I don't understand, why are they responding with "Oh, it was only mold" as if mold in their product is acceptable and not really a big deal. I would flip if I gave my child something to drink with MOLD in it. Chat Icon

thankfully it was mold and not some dangerous substance. kudos to your friend for being so vigilant in finding out what it was.

I think because mold is something that would not cause anyone serious harm to ingest. I'm pretty sure we have all accidentally eaten a bite of moldy bread at one point or another in our lives.

Also, I would imagine that the fact that there was mold in the capri sun most likely does not mean that the company did anything wrong. They said that if there was a little hole in the package, mold could have developed.

I think the fact that it was mold makes me less freaked out than if it had turned out to be a finger or something not occurring naturally like a piece of metal. Chat Icon

I wouldn't be happy if I gave my child something that had mold in it, but I also don't think it would be the end of the world.

I never actually opened up the picture of this because of all the comments saying how disgusting it was. I can say I will most likely not buy capri suns because of this story, but I don't fault the company with the information presented.

I totally understand that this can happen...but their explanation TOTALLY turned me off. I actually hesitated to even one the pictures. MOLD is MOLD is MOLD. APOLOGIZE please.... Immediately...

I won't open that link after reading all the comments.

Stories like this make me glad that my DS won't drink juice. My DS is also allergic to mold, and who knows what would happen if he drank that. The kid got one mosquito bite and his whole shin blew up. I can't imagine what drinking mold (if that's even what it is) would do to him.

I agree with Amanda.

This is going to sound horrible, but I've worked in litigation for a long time and these things HAPPEN. Its NASTY but it happens.

I've seen strange things in all types of food and stuff, it is gross, but...

As a mom and consumer, I am really disappointed with Kraft's response to this.

As someone who works for a digital division of a PR agency, I am so intrigued about how this is unfolding and how Kraft will deal with this issue. I can totally see how this incident will affect how our CPG clients react as we make social media recommendations.
