UGHHH my DD drinks capri sun all the time... i actually just bought 2 boxes of it today... now i am paranoid!!

I NEVER buy any food or beverages that aren't made in the US (that I am aware of at least).
Same here, I chew DH ear off when, even when he buys veggies from countries with poor agricultural practices.
The united states would go hungry if we all stopped eating food that was produced elsewhere. If more people would be vigilant about it, I'm sure the big companies would wake up. But with so many of us on budgets and looking for good prices we often turn a blind eye to where and how our food is produced.
They make tons of money off people who want a good deal. And its not like they are misleading anyone, no one asks where is this made, and what exactly its made of (chemicals, pesticides, preservatives)
eta: I'm not trying to put anyone down, we are like this too, and fall into this trap.
I totally agree with you on this. I would love a list of companies that produce food only in the USA. I know how hard it is to do this, but I agree that if people banded together, the companies would have no choice but to change. Otherwise, it will get worse and worse.

This variety of Capri Sun is 100% fruit juice. That's why I bought it. I never buy any drink that isn't 100% juice for DD.

WHOA...my DH and I are both totally speechless.
When you look at the up-close picture, the inside part has a grain to it...kinda like human skin
I think your friend was EXTREMELY smart to send it for independent testing. This way, Capri Sun can't just explain it away--because you know if it's something that REALLY shouldn't be in juice, they're not going to tell the truth about what it is.
I don't give DD juice, but it REALLY makes you wonder about what's inside those opaque pouches that you can't see

Wow...a whole $7?  Her kids could have gotten very sick if they had drank it. You'd think they'd try to compensate a little more than $7.

These updates make me more and more infuriated...."While unpleasant, it is not a safety issue" I can tell you right now, DH is HIGHLY allergic to mold. Two years ago, while helping my dad move an airconditioner, he got some mold in his eye....within hours he face and eye blew up and it was like that for 4 days. Since when is drinking mold NOT a safety issue?

Even if it is mold, I don't understand why Kraft doesn't consider that to be an issue. That was a huge, ugly chunk of mold! I'm glad they sent it for independent testing & I am curious to see those results!
PS- Word really did get around! The link to this popped up on my FB wall today posted by a friend of mine in Michigan.

How is mold not dangerous?? My mother and sister are both HIGHLY allergic to mold as are many many many people. I would consider something that is a known allergen to be dangerous.
