68 is pretty cold in our house during the winter - I like 71/72 and it's comfy but far from toasty.

Id prefer 72 if my DH would let me. He wants 68. I want 72. We compromise at 70. Sorry I don't think he is being ridiculous.

70 isn't crazy. My friend puts it up to 74 only since her house has really high ceilings and large drafty rooms with hardwood floors...for smaller homes 65 to 68 degrees is fine..we keep it at 65 and go up to 70 only if it's really cold. We have low ceilings and small rooms.
So my answer is, it depends on the size of the rooms and ceiling height.

At night our heat is at 68, but when we are home during the day it's set at 71/72...and I'd like it higher but practicality takes over....I don't think he's ridiculous at all - especially after a shower.

It depends on your house. My parents have an old colonial with an addition that has high ceilings and vented heat, no matter what that house feels cold. We have a ranch with average to low ceilings and baseboard heat. Our house gets warm fast and easily gets too warm.

70 would be like being at the beach at our house!
Usually the heat is on 64 when we are home and then lowers to 59-60 at night and when we are not home. Also, we live in a two family so when the tenant has their heat on downstairs, the heat rises.

70 is normal room temp I think. I wish my hubby would keep it that high but we are always trying to safe heat so ours is usually at 60-65.

It's definitely too high if no one is up there. Our heat is 68 during the day, 64 at night.

ours thermostat is set to 68 when we're home, but if I have the gas fireplace going it throws out a lot of heat, and the temp gets up there to 70+.
(upstairs is set to 60 unless we're up there, 62-64 when we're sleeping).

i try to keep it between 64-66... but lately i find myself turning it up to 70 a lot. i'm not sure why, because i knooow i didn't do that the last few years - i am a grinch with the ac and the heat

Sorry.. I like it cold... so 70 sounds  to me!! I would be so hot and uncomfortable!!!
We don't have the heat control so IDK what the landlords set it to... but we always have our windows open.

We keep ours at 70. Any zones not in use are dropped down to 67.

I am uber cheap with heat. DH likes it warmer than me. But it's not even cold out yet. 70 did not happen yet this year.
He jacks it up at night and I tell him it needs to be cool when sleeping not warmer, he thinks it;s the opposite.
70 will happen when it's winter.
