at most, our heat stays at 68 & i put it down to 65 before bed

OMG I would die if someone put our heat on 70. 65-66 is typically what ours is at. We'll do 68 if we're freezing.

It really does depend on the house - in my house, in my own house, the downstairs zone that covers only the carpeted den is kept around 68 and it is plenty warm and comfy in there. But the zone covering the upstairs living room with wood floors and vaulted ceilings just always feels cold unless it is on 72 or 73.

I generally like it cool in the house, especially when we're sleeping. DH set the thermostat time to go to 70 just before he gets up in the morning so he's not freezing his azz off as he puts it.

I love feeling warm and cozy. During the day the heat is usually on 70. At night I lower it to 66 - 68 or else DH will be sweating.

I think 70 is really high. We keep ours on 60-68. My DH does raise it to 70 or above sometimes but he doesnt really care how high the bill goes unfortunately, lol!!!
We have 2 zones and at night I lower the temp to 58 in the bedrooms. My room gets really really hot and if I kept it on 65 it is sweltering under the comforter!

U should get one of those programmable thermostats so the heat shuts off on its own if he forgets to lower it before he leaves.
We have ours on 65 during the day. I put it up to 70 before the kids go to bed and then lower it to 67 when DH and I go to bed.
Every house is different though.....depends on your windows, heating system, etc.

If gas was free, we would have the house at 70, at least....
We have it at 68 or lower (programmable thermostat), because gas isn't free....

Our heat is usually around 71...doesn't strike me as insane. last night I put it up to 73 to keep DDs room warm.
Us too. We keep it at 73 overnight because DS' room tends to be about 5 degrees cooler than ours.

Ours doesn't go over 62 unless I'm taking the chill out of the air in the morning on a weekend...even then, doesn't go over 65.

Def not that high here. Last year, we didn't have the heat on this early at all!! I am guilty for wanting to be warm when getting out of the shower though So I purchased a little electric room heater and turn it on when I put on the shower so it's toasty when I get out.
