playdate etiquette

If you are friends with a couple of women and you tend to have playdates all together, what do you do if you want a playdate with only one? Do you feel uncomfortable asking one and not the others? Would you be insulted if it was you not being asked?
TIA!

Re: playdate etiquette

We have a play group (6 moms/6 babies)

One of the girls and I get along really well...so sometimes we get lunch after, or we've met up other times too...we just communicate via text or email and don't really talk about it much in front of everyone....I mean, we just really click, so its not meant to exclude, but we just seem to really hit it off (haha, like a blind date)

Re: playdate etiquette

I think its fine to GTG with one or two of the moms seperately.

Just don't leave 1 person out.

My DD tends to gravitate towards one other little girl, so I try to make a date with that mom.

Exactly ... if you or your child is more comfortable with one of the others in the group, then def ask to do lunch or just get togehter... but only if there is more then just the 3 of you total LOL

Re: playdate etiquette

I wouldn't be offended. Two mommies in my group have been friends for a few years with their older kids in Kindergarten together. So they see each other more often.

And I would not hesitate to have just one over if that was all I was in the mood for.
