Personal Question: After birth, how long did you wait to DTD?

I had aDS 2 weeks ago and I can't help feeling like I want to be affectionate with DH, we haven't DTD in almost 2 months because of how uncomfortable and huge I was. I know DH has felt a little neglected lately. I had a c-section and have no post partum bleeding although I know they said nothing up there for 6 weeks...why is that when I had a c-section? Noting really came out of there....

I got the OK at 6 weeks and waited over 3 months, I was petrified. I am glad I waited though BECAUSE everything was 100% back to normal at that point and I did not traumatize myself OR DH LOL

I also had tearing, an episiotomy, pushed for three hours, and was told not to ask how many stitches I had. . . so I am a special case.

oh and PS - DH could see the head for those three hours. . .

I felt I was ready before 6 weeks, but waited anyway..well, I waited to put anything "up there". I found other ways of showing DH affection
I had a c-section too and didn't bleed much for the week after, then it away and started again a week or so later.

I'd wait until I got the go-ahead from the Dr...

Honestly....we got the ok @ 6weeks and went for it.

Did it hurt - hell yes! But as we did it more often, the pain went away!

To add, we only have 1 baby and she was STTN by 6-7 weeks.

From what my dr told me, the reason you are supposed to wait the 6 weeks is because you are HIGHLY fertile right after you deliver and the chances of you concieving again increase SO much. I was terrifed to DTD after DS was born. If it was up to me, I would've waited 6 months! But, at the 6 week PP checkup we got the go-ahead and I caved for the sake of my now ExH. It was painful and I didn't enjoy it at all. But, after a few more trys at it, it was back to normal.

about 10 weeks - I was still in a lot of pain.

i got the ok at 6 weeks and we DTD'd a few days later. I wasn't ready before then...with the soreness, bleeding, stress and sleep deprivation. i was still a tiny bit sore when we DTD but i felt bad for DH & the way we were constantly arguing & being snippy with each other I figured a little sexual tension release was in order. IT WORKED WONDERS! we were back to our old playful, loving selves!

We were ready at like 5 weeks, but I was being all strict that I had to wait for my 6 week appt to get the ok. Well lo and behold, AF shows up the day before the appt.

So the appt got cancelled, our DTD got cancelled etc.

The Dr didnt have another appt for me until I was like 10 weeks PP and DH was NOT waiting for that!

So we DTD right after AF left- so probalby 7 weeks PP.

It was fine- no pain at all.

We DTD at 4 weeks. I was told no tampons tor 6 weeks but sex was ok. I too had 2 sections.

We DTD after my second at 4 weeks PP. I would wait a few more weeks personally - 2 weeks is wayyy too soon.

Got the go-ahead at 6 week appt. It was probably a few days later. All I have to say is OUCH! It took a while to feel back to normal.

With DS1 I waited til I got the go ahead at my 6 wk visit

With DS2 - 3 wks

Honestly, I don't remember it being painful either time. Maybe initially uncomfortable - but no memorable pain.

I gave birth vaginally.

Nothing to do with DTD, but more with your (lack of) postpartum bleeding: I was telling my gyn how little I was bleeding and how awesome it it. He told me just wait because at about 4 wks you shed the placental scar or something and the bleeding gets heavy for a few days.

after DD is was like 8 weeks pp because I was scared.
after DS, 5 weeks pp after c section and it was fine. that said, havent done it since (he's 7 weeks now) because we are so darn tired!!!

Is this terrible, but I honestly don't remember!!!!!

It was definitely past the 6 weeks... We go the OK I believe at 6 or 8 weeks, but it was still a couple of weeks after that.

If you are feeling good and sexy, then go for it as soon as you get the OK.

with both kids, I still had visible stitches at 6 weeks, so that didn't happen. I would think c-sec is different though.

I had a c-section and we waited more than 6 weeks. It still hurt (weird since I didn't give birth vaginally). My OB said it's because BFing makes you dryer and to use lots of lube at first.

Got the ok at 4 weeks, it hurt, I had a vaginal birth with stitches, we waitied another 5 days and used LOTS of lube, and it was better but not the best. FOR ME, it wasnt normal until 3 months PP

got the ok at 6 weeks and we did it a few days later. i was ready for it a couple weeks before that though lol. it didnt even hurt but i felt 100% 2 weeks after delivery.

with DD#2 4weeks

I had to convince DH both times.
