People with a knack for decorating...
What would look nick on top of my cabinets? I have no idea what to do.
We just ordered new crown moulding (something with more height) so that will be changing.

HOnesty, any collection will look dwarfed with all that space. I would go with a painting or like Skew said, a wrought iron piece.

maybe a piece of art on that one huge wall or maybe a "tall" collection, like tall vases something to add some more height

Great kitchen!
Here is a pic of my parent's kitchen that has high ceilings.
It's not the best picture but they have all kinds of fake plants, birdcages and I think even a small trunk up there.

First off, nice kitchen. I would go with some nice framed art work above the cabinets. Do not put anything on top of the cabinets themselves.

I agree with those that said framed art or a big clock. If you put 'stuff' up there it will get very dusty and full of cooking grease unless you climb up there to clean it every month.

Thank you - it's been a long time coming (I should post the before pictures - ugh)! It's still not done - we are waiting for the corbel brackets to come in and then that wall will have a counter.
How much art work would you put there? I am really a decorating challenged.

IMO - I think framed art would look silly. You need something with depth up there. and cooking grease has never been an issue with my parents kitchen. The plants are at least 6 or 7 feet higher than the stove.

i would only "dress" the wall on the left. look for a horizontal piece. again, either vintage art or decorative metal grill.

I would do something large in the middle-like somethingf rom Pier one-a large vase iwth some grasses in it.

I knew it - I thought they looked familar! I picked out the same ones, but in Coffee Glaze. We're not ready to start the kitchen reno just yet, but those are the ones I want!

I personally have the same type of cabinets and do not like clutter on top (so I clutter the walls instead lol) but - a few cute things I have seen, depends on your taste :
-chef statues and plates
-different fruit arrangements (fake obv)
-roosters (thats what i have only i have the curtains and decorations)

I would do an old wine theme with wrought iron pieces, wine bottles a few garlands of ivy and such. You have a beautiful kitchen!!

 On the taller wall a big clock or picture. The slanted wall decrotive things like oils, marinades, and those kinds of things. You can buy the cool ones from places like Target for cheap. What about vases with flowers in them check places like peir 1, pottery barn and JC Penny's.
