I think it's strange that your MIL even has a copy of your wedding video.
Really? We gave our parents copies of our wedding video. My parents did pay for it, so I figured it was the least I could do!

Guess I'm in the minority on this one!

My inlaws and my parents both have copies of our wedding video. It was included in the video package.
Us too

Overreacting or not?
I see why you're disappointed, but at ages 2 & 3, I bet in a year or so they won't even remember that they saw the video.

Overreacting or not?
Personally I wouldn't care. And all honesty, I think its a bit of an overreaction.
But also I think its wrong to be angry with her because you assumed she would know. People aren't mind readers and she didn't do this with vicious intent. I understand if your disappointed, but in the grand scheme of life, is it really worth fuming and getting yourself worked up. Holding a grudge and not letting it go to the point that you told her your so upset. I don't know, just a little perspective here (devils advocate) is it really worth being that upset and angry over? I think your energy could be better spent ya know? Focus on all the good things she does for you and your family and sometimes its better to just let the little things go.

Thanks guys! I appreciate all of your input! I already told her I'm upset which I never do. I usually just let it fester or annoy DH with it. But, I guess I'll just try to let it go...I guess because it means so much to me, I just figured that it did to everyone and therefore would have been obvious to her.
I'm glad that you expressed your feelings because it won't fester. Now, move on from it and try not to hold it against her because she didn't know your feelings about it.

Overreacting or not?
Yes, it def would upset me. Does that mean I would be pissed at my MIL, no. Unfortunately, you never explained how you felt about it so she really had no clue. Btw, it would never cross my mind to make it clear to my MIL either. Do I think you overreacted? Definitely not, I think you handled it well. Had you called her up screaming and yelling and then taken it out on DH, that would be overreacting in my book. You're entitled to your feelings but responsible for your actions.

I didn't read any of the other responses yet, but I think your post sounds a little crazy. So yes, overreaction imo.

Why would you be upset at your MIL and not your DH? Based on how you worded your post I would think he was thereally with them when this took place.

Overreacting or not?
Thanks again for everyone's response! What can I say? I'm a sentimental person (they know that). Unfortunately, just like she can't read my mind, I can't read hers to know that's something she would share with them. I try to cover everything when they watch them (which is rare), but I didn't even think this was something that I had to even address. Anyway, I'm going to delete my original post because I'm trying to just move passed it at this point! But thanks again! It's nice to hear everyone's different perspective on things.

Re: Overreacting or not?
I can see why it would bother you if you are a sentimental person and were saving that moment to share with your dc. Your dc are still young enough that they won't remember watching it and in a few years you can share the experience with them. Be sure to explain to your dh and the grandparents that this is important to you.

Yes, I think you're overreacting because they literally had no way of knowing that; however, I'm sorry that you're hurt!
