Re: Overreacting or not?
Did she know it was something that you wanted to share with them when they were older?
If not, you can't really get mad at her. It's fine to be upset about it, but I don't think anyone would think that it's something someone would be saving to share unless they were specifically told so. If MIL knew this was something important to you, then of course that's pretty messed up.

Re: Overreacting or not?
Oh man, I'd be so disappointed. We just watched our wedding video last weekend with our 4 year old. Sorry

I've never specifically told her this. Just thought it was something that everyone would want to share with their children.. maybe it's not as common sense as I thought and I'm overreacting.

To be honest, I never even thought of showing my wedding video to my DD. I don't think much about it ever. If my mom showed it to her, I'd be like- oh that's cool I didn't even think of it!

Re: Overreacting or not?
It wouldn't bother me at all.
We have a huge wedding picture of us in our dining room and my 5 year old daughter always tells me that I looked like princess. My heart melts.

I understand why it's important to you however, if she didn't know that was something you were saving then you can't really fault her.

Re: Overreacting or not?
It probably would disappoint me - we did show our video to our son when he was around 4 I think- but I wouldn't be mad. I would think your MIL just never thought that it would be a big deal to you.

Maybe she thought you did already?
I'd be disappointed that but I couldn't be mad at her since she didn't know.

There are pictures from our wedding day in our home, my mothers and my mother in laws. Plus, we showed DS some of it and he was bored after 5 minutes and wanted to watch Despicable Me.

Did you tell your MIL not to show the video? Otherwise, I wouldn't be upset.

Overreacting or not?
Thanks guys! I appreciate all of your input! I already told her I'm upset which I never do. I usually just let it fester or annoy DH with it. But, I guess I'll just try to let it go...I guess because it means so much to me, I just figured that it did to everyone and therefore would have been obvious to her.

I'd be disappointed. I'm looking forward to the day I can show my son our wedding video (he probably won't care) but I would definitely be sad if people watched it without me there.

Re: Overreacting or not?
I wouldn't be happy about it but also hard to get too mad if they didn't know you were saving it to show another time.
