Re: organizing receipts
All of my receipts go into a small basket on my desk. I try to sort through them every so often. All house related ones (for one year) go into their own manilla envelope and stay with my house stuff. Other ones (for one given year) go into another envelope and is put into my tax stuff.
I did see on a home improvement show that gave the person an entire drawer in the new office to just dump reciepts and said you only have to sort them at tax time. I would have to find an empty drawer though!! LOL

Re: organizing receipts
I have them all in a file cabinet and then every few months or so I file them away. I have an accordian-like folder that has about 30 sections that I label for most used receipts.......Bank statements, credit cards, home depot, cell phone, cable, etc. Each pocket has its own name and then I have a Misc. pocket where the not so common ones go into.
Every year I get a new one.

Re: organizing receipts
I have them alpha organized in a small box. Got it at staples...the letters and all. Works well and I clean it out every few months and get rid of what can go.

We do too...although we're not that organized and do not have them tabbed monthly...it's working for us right now as we know all of our major receipts go in this box.

Re: organizing receipts
Unfortunately my organizing consist of a very large tupperware box that I just throw reciepts thrughout the year in. At the end of the year I go through it like a mad women to find everything I need. This is the method I've used in the last few years mostly b/c I have a toddler that messes with everything and nothing is safe.

Re: organizing receipts
We have a small accordian envelope kind of like the ones for coupons. I separate by store. I'll clean out every once and a while when I know I've used something and there's no chance for return. It works really well.
