Kristen - take my advice and go with Forever Fireflies (Heather). We did a shoot with her last week, and it came out FANTASTIC!! Her work is amazing, she is easy to work with and her prices are VERY AFFORDABLE!

I have also seen Heather's work on FB and teh website and she does a great job. Not sure about how much though.

I would never spend so much money for photos (not just Summer's but in general) I mean I had DD's pics taken at K mart photo studio last year and I thought that was expensive
Nothing against Summer (she truly does an amazing job) or anyone else, I just feel that to have your photos done by a professional is way too expensive (JMO).
I really don't think that OP meant anything bad by her post. And I don't see why this thread became such a drama.
To the OP whoever suggested investing in a good camera , ITA!!! I have DSLR and it takes AMAZING photos. I always get compliments and people often think that pics I take were done by a professional. And it costs a lot cheaper than having a professional do them

I consider myself pretty good with a camera and have had a DSLR for 6 years, but I'm no where near professional.
I can't weigh in on the Sumerlyn subject, nor would I even if I had used her services however some of my favorites pics ever taken of my kids were done by you 3 years ago. Talk about robbing someone...I think I gave you $50 when you were doing the photo shoots for Deb G. Beautiful pics!!!

Her prices are currently 50% off the list price through December 2010???
Which means the CD is $400 of which you have a $100 credit towards...
and if you don't want the cd, then get the prints, no??
Okay I am confused right now the prices on Summer's site are half the price that is posted there? I thought it was already half off and you had to double that price next year  So if I want the empty room it is $325 instead of $650? If so then WOOOOOOHOOOO, I can more pictures than I planned too

Her session fee is $300 of which $100 goes towards a print credit. The print/digital prices are 50% off for 2010.
The only reason why I know them so well is while Summer is amazing at photography, she doesn't know anything about pdfs so I did them for her
Stacey - I'm not sure which price list you are going on but the website has the most accurate prices.

I LOVE Summer's work and obviously most everyone else does too on LIF. Considering that the photographers that come from the hospital to your home to take pics charge 400 to 500 for their packages i don't think that Summer's prices are that bad.
People are willing to spend 5000 and up on their wedding day for photography so why not on thier baby?
Even if it is out of some budgets she will of course find business.
Let's keep in mind she has 2 small children and a husband to take care of and she doesn't want to be working round the clock to do it.
I'm thrilled that i got a session from her.. I will cherish those pictures forever.
NO need for any drama.

my only question is, how many pics are you getting for 300?? my pics were amazing, brought me to tears, but i was lil disapointed in how little pics i got

But I am sure at this point Heather is portfolio building and still learning which is why her prices are so low. I'm sure if she keeps with it eventually she will raise her prices too.
