Nursery Flooring - Carpet or Wood?

We're going to be working on the nursery in the next few weeks and I'm not sure what do with the flooring. Originally we were going to do carpet but a friend suggested those interlocking wood flooring. Less allergens but I like the cushion of a carpet.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Re: Nursery Flooring - Carpet or Wood?

we did hardwood for that reason - allergies. we did get an area rug and figure that eventually we will be carpeting the room, but figured that it would be better to have the floors done initially just in case she has allergies

We have wood floors throughout our house and will surely add an area rug in the nursery.

carpet... dh loves the extra padding, less chance of breaking things... in our last house the LR/DR was granit and everything shattered

I do LOVE the look of wood with an area rug though

Re: Nursery Flooring - Carpet or Wood?

we had HW for our first DD and it was very loud and got dusty in there so this time we figured we would try a carpet. We just ordered it yesterday and Im happy with our decision. The carpet guy said he would take the rest and make a small area rug to put in front of the changing table so if we spilled etc etc

Re: Nursery Flooring - Carpet or Wood?

we have carpeting in the house we are renting. If we had the money, we would put in pergo but its not worth it if we don't own the house.

Re: Nursery Flooring - Carpet or Wood?

I wanted the hardwood so bad because it is already in the room. I wound up going the carpet route, and I am so glad I did. It is so much softer and forving, for when the start rollling, crawling, (god forbid) fall or climb out of the crib, etc..

We have brand new hardwood throughout the house so we will just do an area rug in the nursery.

Re: Nursery Flooring - Carpet or Wood?

in dd's room, we put in hardwood....for the "new" nursery, we will be doing the same...since the carpet was relatively new in both rooms.....they were formally guest rooms, we had the rugs bound in circles and put them on the flloor....

I assume this is what we'll do even though I was toying with the idea of carpet.

Our whole house has wood floors. We will most likely just get an area rug for the nursery.

My whole house is wood floors.

I'm in the minority, I think I'm going to carpet the nursery.
