I'm so sorry.
I know how surprising something like this can be. (I once got laid off from a part-time job on my answering machine).
BUT I truly beleive that things like this happen for a reason. You will find an amazing job which will be right for you. 
 that it happens very soon.

without boring you all with the stupid details... it all stems from my not getting along with my boss. i saw this coming. she's been looking for a way/reason to fire me for a long time.
i'm in nj. how long before i can file for unemployment benefits?

i got fired in December right before Christmas. I know how it feels.
The good news is NJ's unemployment benefits are WAY BETTER than NY's.
you can file right away but i believe there is a 1-wwek waiting period.
