New Jersey Jury Summons & SAHM

so I've been summoned...

I am a SAHM to an almost 4 year old and a 17 month old with no family or babysitting backup. Are hardship excuses for SAHM's typically granted?

Last time I served I was actually selected for a case. I've been called twice now, my husband never. Chat Icon

Yes, I got called for jury duty while I was on maternity leave last year.

Since I was considered the sole caretaker for DD I was excused.

No, I actually didn't know that it was an automatic exemption and I actually went to the courthouse (because when I called, my number was chosen to show up).

I explained my circumstances and the woman made me feel like an idiot when she said, all I had to do was respond back on the questionaire that I was a sole caregiver for my child.
