Need alternative names for "Grandma"
MIL is insisting on an alternative name. I figured I'd send her a list of prospectives names and let her pick.
She's Italian but isn't a fan of Nona...

We distinguish between the two with Grandma (my mom) and Granny (MIL).

We called my grandma "Nanny."
and my mom called her grandma "precious"- because my aunt thought thats what her name was because she was always telling everyone they were "precious" I think precious is really cute!
My friend calls her grandma "Nan"- I guess short for nanny.

I call my grandma "Bubbe". It's the Yiddish word for grandma.

I'm sure a bunch of posters could come up with alternative names for their children to call their MIL. 
It used to be "Mama" & "Papa" when they were learning how to pronounce it.
We go with
Grandma
and
Grandma from Florida
my nephews use Nanny & Grammy.
my niece uses Grandma Peanut Butter (no idea)
