Moms of 2 pls come in

When you were pregnant with your second was it hard to put your DC in the crib? I am really short - and don't have a drop-down crib. I can barely get him in it now without putting my entire body in there.

I figure I will just need to stand him up when I put him down - instead of laying him down - but I worry that he won't go to sleep then

Any tricks to this when you have a huge belly?

You may need to buy a step stool...

I always put the twins in the crib standing up and they eventually sit and lay down on their own.

he doesn't stand up when you put him in the crib? The babies protest a little every time but only for like a minute.

I should add that when Jack was a newborn and I had to place him in the crib asleep I actually kept a pair of wedge shoes - from back in the day - about 4 inches high, behind the door in his room and I would slip them on just to place him down

You gotta do what you gotta do right?!

Now that I'm thinking about it - I may have to whip those badboys out again and dust them off

I have a drop down crib, but at the very end I used a stool too or made DH do it

Julia's was a co-sleeping baby and still is--lol Sorry D can't help! but I agree with Stef, get a stool.

I did the bed transition when DD was 2, just as I found out I was pregnant Much easier at 5'2

I would put him in standing and give him hugs and kisses like that since he stands anyway when you leave.
I have a drop down rail for DS and oddly enough I NEVER used it when I was pg and I laying him down 8 & 9 months pg. DD has a stationary side and I wish I had a drop down rail because I struggle to put her down now. The next one is getting a drop down rail.

I am short (5'2) and like you, could barely put DS down in the crib without help. So when I had a HUGE belly, I would need a stool to get him in.

I haven't had too much trouble yet but I'm 5'8" so that helps. I also turn kind of sideways to get her out when she is laying down. I would get a stool if it became an issue - why not if it makes your life easier?

I'm 6 ft and I have the same issue putting Victoria down - my darn stomach gets in the way

Last night I put her on her knees and guided her to lie down. It's easier for me to bend over the crib rail just to rub or pat her back, I think her added weight is what gets me.

I didn't have trouble, but my DS would always lay down on his own.
