Do you know if they let you keep your makeup on or do you have to wash it off before delivery?

Personally I will not be wearing any make-up. I can't bear the thought of sweating with anything but moisturizer on my face. At the childbirth class I went to the nurse recommended no nail polish too and no jewelry.

I put it on before I headed to the hospital. I look horrid without it. It wasn't an issue at all. Some might make you take your nail polish off when they check your oxygen level on your finger. I didn't have any on since I planned on getting a mani the next day so nails were bare

If I have the energy for it I will apply before leaving for the hospital. After that, however I look as delivery progresses...oh well. No one will be looking at my face anyway

I got a mani/pedi the day before my c-section because I wanted to look nice in the hospital. Well, I got there, and they took one nail on each hand/foot off, so they could easily check my coloring! There went that idea!

I had a scheduled c-section with DD in 2009 and got a mani/pedi the day before and they didn't say anything. I also put make-up on that morning too. I'm so glad I did, that first pic of them holding DD up to my face is now hanging on my wall!

I didn't wear make up with my first, and learned my lesson.  I wore light makeup with my second. Pics came out MUCH better.

As long as I am not blinded by pain, I plan on at least putting on some waterproof liquid liner and mascara. Makes all the difference for me
Good to know about the nail polish tho!

I never wore makeup to the hospital to have my baby's and I had c-sections, I figured with all the crying my makeup will come right off, even after I didn't put any on, was to busy with the baby and to sore to bother lol

i went into the hospital with makeup and i had a mani/pedi done a couple days before. everyone kept telling me how great i looked in the pictures after i delivered. thanks to the makeup lol

I had make-up on but by the end of it all I looked horrid.
You sweat and it all just looks terrible at the end. So either way it won't matter.

You don't have to wash anything off. But after my water broke, I used my flat iron to straighten my hair and put on some blush and mascara so I'd look more presentable later. What a waste! The hormones released during labor make you sweat like CRAZY so the mascara just ran down my face and my hair frizzed. Ah well, it wasn't ME my visitors were interested in seeing.

I put m/u on before I left for the hospital. I kept my m/u bag in my pocketbook. After I had DS (while waiting to be taken to my room) I did a little touch up. As soon as the elevator doors opened up.. BING... 25 members of my family and friends were there! It did make me feel a little better, but I still looked like I just went through 25 hours of labor lol.

I had makeup on and my nails were freshly manicured and painted the day before.
Neither was an issue at all.
