Lazy eye

One of DDs eyes seems to turn in to her nose sometimes. I spoke to ped and he wants her to see an opthamologist for possible lazy eye?
Does anyone have any experience with this? Will she need glasses? Will she have to wear a patch? See the attached pic for example of her eye.

Re: Lazy eye

my DD had the SAME thing!!! I took her to a pediatric ophthalmologist and it turns out that the bridge of her nose just hadn't developed enough yet....we waited and she was fine...it corrected itself. I would bring your DD to the ophthalmologist though...they can tell right away if it's a real issue.

eta: see my post on it awhile back...lazy eye

Oh god thank you!! The dr did mention this bridge of the nose thing. It only happens sometimes so I was freaked out! So funny that its almost the identical post. Hoping this is a common thing and is what your DD had!

Re: Lazy eye

I thought DD#1 also had a lazy eye since it appeared that one of her eyes turned inward in pics. We brought her to a ped opthamologist (Dr. Ahn-Lee in Bay Shore) and were told that she had a pseudo-strabismus which is what you were describing, the bridge of her nose makes it look like she has a lazy eye. I would bring her to see the eye doc to be sure. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Ditto, we were more worried than our own ped, and told us to alleviate our fears we should go see someone and we did and confirmed it was the bridge of her nose..she's 19 mos now and no sign of it anymore

Re: Lazy eye

My one DD has a lazy eye. I brought her to a Ped opthamologist at 6 months 9 months and we are going again in Aug she will be just over 1 yr at that appointment. With her she does have an issue with her eye but we havent done any treatments yet.
