Just have to say this
There are people on both sides who are assholes.
I am not grouping all of the Hillary supporters with the rioters and woman who shit in public to smear the trump sign or beat up a person because they said he voted trump
I will also not group all trump supporters to what everyone is posting here today.
Again: both sides have shameful people
I agree with you. I heard about the woman who took a shit in front of a crowd of people, with people videoing it, etc, nd smeared it on Trump's picture. How much more disgusting can you get? I wonder if she will look back and be embarrassed one day???? How much lower can you get?
Just stating that video is old. It's just floating around with the wrong title
I refused to watch or share it. Just saw the title. So I'm gonna just take your word for it.
Ok. Take the shit smearer Off the table.
Rioters? Pulling trump supporter out of car and hitting him? Burning the flag? disgusting displays

Not coming in on either side of the issue but I have an honest question.
Why is it assumed that because a group endorsed a candidate that the candidate endorses the group? Like the KKK supports Donald Trump but how do we know that Donald Trump supports what the KKK stands for. And this could be said for any candidate, just using the obvious right now. I am sure that many donators and endorsers of any candidate may do so because that candidate is more aligned with the organizations principle. But who is to say that the candidate supports the organization or even knows what the organizations does. Is that endorsement/donation a blanket acceptance of the organizations practices?
On the one hand, I don't assume he 'endorses' them because he has never said so, obviously. And I don't know what's in his head regarding this and other hate groups.
BUT: - as I said in another thread, he retweets white supremacy groups and individuals. Maybe he doesn't realize where these tweets come from, but he should, I feel. - he played very coy when David Duke first expressed support for him, refusing to denounce him and saying he didn't know David Duke or know anything about him. Both were later proved false. - Since he won there have been numerous accounts of violence against people of color, along with this parade. I find it hard to believe that he and more so the people around him don't know any of this. And yes, maybe some is fake. But I bet more incidents are real than not. For someone who loves Twitter so much, and noticed the protests, I think he should condemn these events.
So maybe he's not specifically endorsing these groups but he does not seem to have a problem with them either.

Let's be charitable.
Let's assume that he knows nothing about anything. And that people here legitimately don't understand why Jewish people would be upset about the KKK celebrating the election. Very charitable.
The New York Times just wrote about the hate and violence in his name and called upon him to denounce it.

Jacksmommy I didn't say he didn't know who they are. And in the article that you referenced it states that his campaign rejected the Crusaders support and denounces hate in any form. So publicly he does not support or endorse the group. But because they support him, that is held against him?

Why haven't Obama or Clinton spoken out against the protests? It is their supporters who are out there. Obama is the current leader of this country. It is his responsibility until his last day in office to maintain order and decorum and to respond to the things happening in our nation.

Re: KKK having a parade for TRUMP
How can you compare mainly peaceful protests over the election of a public figure to hate speech and hate crimes directed threateningly against private individuals because of their beliefs, the national origin, and the color of their skin?
Please acknowledge that we're talking about 2 different things.
As for the few non-peaceful protests, they're being ably handled by the authorities, and they're STILL not the same thing as hate crimes, nor are they being done in Hillary's name or Obama's name.
No one's saying that non peaceful protesting is OK, but how can you possibly come up with a reciprocal obligation for Obama and Clinton to match the one our President -elect now has due to the HATE CRIMES being committed in HIS NAME?

I see it as how Obama is accused of not being supportive of the police because he also acknowledges that people of color have more unfavorable interactions with police officers. He's never said he's not in favor of police, he has acknoweldge that the police are deserving of our respect and have an extraordinarily difficult job, but people don't believe it because it's not as overt as they would like.
Here, Trump has not even bothered to comment against the KKK support he receives. Clinton has been called a terrorist (not by you, but by many) because she's received funding from countries that harbor terrorists and didn't return the donations.
It cuts both ways.

I do not agree with the principles of the KKK. I do not support their organization or beliefs. But they existed before Donald Trump and will exist long after Donald Trump. I do believe in their right to say what they want, which is afforded to them by the US Constitution, they same as it is afforded to all of us.
But I do not see why it should be held against DT that the KKK is exercising their free speech, when he has denounced hate and rejected their organizations newspapers endorsement.

But, hate speech (as well as some other forms of speech) is NOT protected under the Constitution. There are laws against it. There is no absolute right to free speech. So, no, they don't necessarily have a right to say whatever they want. No one does.

To answer the original post, no I don't think that you have anything to be afraid of. I liken this to everyone running to the supermarket for supplies before a storm, because the weathermen are hyping it all up to be the worst storm in the history of mankind. The media needs ratings, they are going to ride the coattails of the election upset as long as they can. The main concern right now should be the stupidity of the American people who blindly follow the media. I don't think you have to worry about someone spray painting a swastika on your house or trying to harm your family for being Jewish.
And before someone attacks me, my father was Jewish and my husband is Jewish.

Actually, (and I am on your side), hate speech is protected. But free speech doesn't mean consequence free speech. People have lost friends, jobs, goodwill, and their reputations because of hate speech. We should shine a light on it where we see it and demand accountability. But unless it develops into violence, incitement, etc., it's actually perfectly lawful.

Because it's being held in his name.
If they were just marching and spewing their hate for the hell of it I could understand where you're coming from.
But when they are doing it in his honor. Our next president IMO he needs to speak up.
Shit if they were holding it in my name I would speak out against it.

KKK having a parade for TRUMP
Can we take a step back and recognize that some people in this post are defending the KKK's right to free speech? WHAT?!?!?
No matter who you voted for, who you support...the KKK is always wrong. Why is that even a discussion?
As President-elect, Trump needs to shut that sh*t down, fast. He may have been reluctant to denounce them before for fear of losing votes, but now he needs to make a public statement that this is not acceptable here. And, make no mistake, this isn't me saying the violent anti-trump protesters are any better. But, he fueled this fire, so he is now responsible for dousing some of the flames.

What does being Jewish have to do with you being scared that this piece of trash group is celebrating Trumps victory?
Should I be scared that these whiny protesters are having a hissy fit because they didn't receive their participation trophy?
Wow. Your lack of empathy is astounding.
