Kind of a Spinoff to Pierced Ears... Painted Nails
What are your thoughts on little girls with their nails panted?
I will go first... Its summertime and Carlie see's me getting my nails and toenails done... so for fun I paint Carlie's Toenails and she loves it...
Do people think she looks trashy? Honest options please b/c I know a lot of you hold back... JK
Just looking to see what other people think...
ETA my DD is 21 months... I just started this month b/c she always ask for it, not saying that she gets everything she ask for... but I don't like it on little babies... Now THATS TRASHY hahha JK

I love the pierced ears but for some reason, not a fan of the painted nails. I don't think it's trashy (LOL), it's just not for me and my girl...at least not until she's older. Maybe 3 or 4 and we do a mommy/daughter salon day? i have no basis for this, just personal preference!

I don't think trashy or anything...for me, I like a certain look..
I like an Ivory/Gerber baby pure look to them.
When my 17 mo old gets a little older, I can def see doing her toes...she would love it.

I paint DD's toes also and she loves it....
It's a mommy-n-me thing we do together....
Could care less who thinks its "trashy".....
"Trashy" to me would be a word to desribe the parent who doesn't take the time to do things with their child that they love be it, painting nails, reading books, coloring , pushing them on a swing 
Oh, and my DD's ears have been piereced since she was 6 months old so she's been thuggin' it for almost 2 years already

I started painting DD's toes when she was 2. She loved it. She is now 3.5 and I took her for her first pedicure a few months ago. We had a great girl's day out.

Not trashy at all!! It is impossible for a cute little baby to look trashy... unless she is 1/2 nakes with a beer in hand. I can't wait to have a little girl to do all these cute things with!!

I painted DD's nails for the 1st time on christmas when she was 2 1/2. I only did it occassionally at that age. Now she comes with me about once a month to the nail salon. She is 5.

when DD stopped putting her feet in her mouth i painted her toes.
she just started getting her finger nails painted in the last year or so. (shes 3.5 now)
she loves it, we do out nails together. its some special time together for us.

I took my3 yo for her first Mani/pedi on her 3rd birthday. Shes been maybe half a dozen times since then. She loves it, and yes it's the best way to clip her nails.

I think it's super cute, to be honest.
I have boys, but I feel there is something so wonderful and whimsical about being a girl, and painted toes and nails, should a child desire them, is cute & innocent.

I started painting DDs nails when she asked for it. She is now 4 and we paint them once every few months. Just recently found a hot/neon pink color- She was in love :)

I was in the airport and saw a chubby little baby maybe 6 mos with pink painted toenails and it was the cutest thing ever!

i'll admit i don't have a daughter. (although i really really want one)
i don't think i'll be piercing her ears or painting her nails until much much older. the nails for special occasions only when she is 7-8. before that, no way.
(i also won't let her play with make-up)
my mom never did any of those things to me, and i am grateful. i know my skin is better because of it. i know many girls my age who can't leave the house without make-up on because of how tired and bad their skin looks. it may sound old fashioned, but i really think it's form years and years of using make-up.

Im not a fan of it on infants. But definitely when they are a little older I say go for it! As soon as my DD starts noticing mine and asks for it then I would do it for her.

The first time I painted my daughters nails, she was almost 3 & she was so excited - whenever someone came to our house, she would run to them & take of her socks to show then her pretty blue nails. Whenever I have time, I paint them for her because she likes it so much.
I havent pierced her ears yet - I think it looks adorable on toddlers, but I'm just too afraid of an infection or of her tugging at the earrings, so I'll wait a few more years for that, maybe when she's 6 or so & knows how to properly take care of them.

I waited until my DD was at least 3 and that was few and far between. I thought the fumes from the polish and remover were harsh before that. Now she's 5 and we do them 1-2x a month, if that. They start noticing things on friends and come home and ask
out of curiosity. I feel like this is only a subject that moms that have daughters can comment on....no offense. You really don't know what you would do until put in that situation. Its nail polish, not a nose piercing....

ITA on all accounts. DD is 20 mos and I occassionally paint her nails and piggies :) It really is a "mommy and me" thing because I will always paint my nails to match DDs- regardless of the hideous colors she may pick out
Also, DD got her ears pierced at 6mos. I personally think she looks adorable!

I think it is adorable! But, I won't do it until DD is about 5 years old and I will make a big deal of our first pedicure! It will be only for special occasions and never for school!

I dont see anything wrong with it. I painted DDs toenails once this summer and she loved it.
I won't take her to get them done until she is older (don't want to start her with that habit - I'll be broke ) But I see nothing wrong with it

Cute maybe but don't you think this is dangerous at that age? My 4.5 month old ALWAYS has her feet in her mouth - I'd be worried about her eating the nail polish off at this age!

i agree, its dangerous & toxic...not too smart to be used on a baby IMO.
as far as older babies...thats a personal preference i suppose...I don't think it's trashy per se...but i don't think it's necessary on a baby. maybe i'd do it around 7ish...and only SOMETIMES as a special treat. I'm pretty old school so to me thats another thing that symbolizes a girls coming of age.
here's how i see it & again it's obviously just my opinion. these are customs that were created to enhance a womans beauty & attract attention & i don't see why a baby should concern themselves with enhancing their beauty or attract more attention. Children are made to grow up too fast, I enjoy the period when they're pure and unaltered
