Kids playing outside
Do you worry that they are loud and bothering the neighbors?
I feel like my kids are soooo loud. I have 2 four year olds and a 2 year old and I feel bad for my neighbors.
They are just playing but I still feel bad they have to listen to it

Re: Kids playing outside
Sometimes I think about it - but kids are supposed to have fun and run around outside. I only try and quiet them down if it is unnecessary screaching

Nope. As long as it's an appropriate time they can be as loud as they want.

Re: Kids playing outside
That's why I love my family neighborhood. As long as appropriate time I think that is what outside is for. Outdoor voices for everyone. Kids need to blow off energy.
Jmo. A lot of people are too uptight around here. The joy of children playing is one of gods greatest gifts

Kids playing outside
My DS isn't old enough to go outside to play, but as a neighbor I never mind if there are kids outside running around and being loud. The only time it bothers me is if a child is outside screeching nonstop (and by this I mean for a while, not just a screech and play then screech again) and the parents do nothing about it.

Nope. That's life in the suburbs. Kids play, dogs park, people listen to music outside, can't worry about that stuff.

Re: Kids playing outside
Nope, as long as it's daytime, I wouldn't worry. And I never have problems with other kids playing outside, assuming they are just being normal kids. If they were standing outside my windows screaming, I might have a problem, but other than that - kids will be kids...and should be!

Kids playing outside
Nah. I only ask them to quiet down when they are shrieking pretty loudly. My DD is a little actress and will run up the slide, shriek at the top of her lungs, fall on her stomach while holding the top of the slide and start yelling "help me". Then my boys will chime in. That's usually when I put a stop to it. I can totally see one of my neighbors calling the cops because my daughter is acting out a scene from her head :)

Re: Kids playing outside
Nope... It's not late at night when they're playing outside and we always use the terms "inside" and "outside" voices. When they yell or scream it's not continuously. It's sporadic so no reason for them to get in trouble. The best part about the kids playing outside is they can run, yell, jump, and be themselves.

Re: Kids playing outside
I usually just let them play & yell as long as it's not out of control. They don't stay out for longer than 3 hours at a time anyway.

Re: Kids playing outside
No.
I've listened to our neighbors kids for years playing in their yards............yelling, giggling, and being kids. Now that I have little ones I'm not worried about the noise they make outside..............it's my neighbor's turn to be understanding of us having little ones the way I was understanding when their kids were little.
Besides, I like hearing kids all around, it makes the neighborhood feel lively and family friendly. It doesn't bother me at all.

Kids playing outside
I don't mind kids playing and being loud as long as they're just playing and having fun. What I can't stand is our neighbors let their kids fight and scream at each other, which then leads to one or both of them crying and sobbing loudly. Wailing really. And for some reason their parents never come out to check on them or put a stop to it. So if we're outside with dd we have to listen to that, and sometimes it goes on for a very long time. And when they're not fighting, they sometimes sit on the roof of their playhouse and watch us over the fence, which is very annoying and awkward. But on the days when they're actually just playing with each other and minding their own business, they don't bother me at all

Re: Kids playing outside
Like others stated, I love hearing the kids outside and playing!
As for my own kids, again like others, the only time I tell them to bring it down a notch is when they're screeching, making annoying noises or yelling in anger at each other.

Re: Kids playing outside
As long as it's not really obnoxious then I let it go. I will tell them to stop if it's just nonsense screeching/whining/etc. Even I don't want to listen to that.

Re: Kids playing outside
DH and I argue about this - he constantly tells my boys to lower their voices, not yell etc - They are KIDS, playing OUTSIDE, in the fenced in backyard that we pay a small fortune in taxes so that they CAN play outside ......... It's one thing if it's 8 am, or 11pm, or if they're just screaming just for the sake of it - but if they are running around, laughing, playing, yelling and just loud ........No, I dont't feel bad. They're kids.

Kids playing outside
Nope! I let my son run wild in our backyard. Especially becAuse my a hole neighbor has been setting up his garage sale for this weekend for the past four days at 6am. His driveway is right next to our bedroom window and he knows and sees the window open. Yelling at his wife and dragging sh!t and banging sh!t around. Woke my son (who has been giving us such a hard time) up twice this week. I'm about to record my son crying and play it outside his bedroom window non stop at night.
