Introducing Table Food and When to Introduce "Lunch"

What were some of the first table foods you introduced to your DC? This weekend, I am looking to start to introduce some more things.

As of right now, my DS has tried puffs, yogurt melts, bananas, pasta, ground beef, and cottage cheese. He seems to hate pasta (pastina and the ABC shaped ones) and cottage cheese. He seems to always gag...

Also - when did you introduce a third meal? Right now he has oatmeal and a fruit and then oatmeal and a veggie with some table food.

Introducing Table Food and When to Introduce

I think it was around 6 or 7 months that we started giving DD yogurt for lunch.

I started lunch at 8 months which was when I introduced more finger foods and also yogurt. I did yogurt a lot for lunch. I did crackers (added pb around 10 months), open faced grilled cheese with cheddar, deli ham. She also ate steamed veggies (carrots broccoli green beans, peas corn) rice, meatloaf, roasted chicken, toast, pancakes, sweet potatoes and squash.

DS is 8 months and since like 7 or so months we've been just giving him tiny pieces of what we eat.

Waffle
Yogurt
Banana
Avocado
Chicken
Steak
Puffs
Pear
American cheese

He's had puréed food and can now drink directly from the pouch so that helps so he'll have a pouch and puffs if we don't share our food with him but he wants to eat when we do.

Apple
Banana
Peach
Butternut squash
Blueberry
Sweet potato
Apricot

My ds was on 3 meals a day by 9 months.

For pasta my ds hated pasting so I tried other types of pasta and he loved them.

It was wierd I had better success with him eating bigger pieces of things than the really small thing like pastina

I was about to post something very similar.. My DD is 8.5 months and seems to not really be in to purreed food, so I was thinking of just giving her finger food/table food instead - . I give her ripe fruit (bananas, strawberries, pears, ) steamed veggies, (broccoli, peas, carrots, butternit squash) and shredded veal or chicken (from a soup) . I also give cheerios, and mum mums. I gave her American cheese for the first time today. I may start yogurt soon also. I think my ped recommends three meals a day around 9 months.
