How did you introduce your DC to table food?

DS is 8.5 months old and I have been trying to get him to start eating table foods. So far he has no interest in eating it. I have tried puffs many times, and he just throws them on the floor. I have also tried Mashed potatoes, cheese and a turkey meatball. I have to put it into his mouth, and he usually makes a face. I feel like most friends with kids the same age are eating so much.
I'm also not sure when exactly to give him table food. I don't know when to fit it into his schedule.

Here is his dalily schedule:
6am- wake up
615 -6oz bottle
715- cereal with half jar of fruit
8- nap
930 -wake up
10- 6 oz bottle
11-1 Jar of stage 2 fruit
1230-Nap
130 wake up
2-6oz Bottle
330-400-1 Jar of stage 2 vegtable
530-6oz bottle
6/630 Bed

I started table food at about 7-8 months because DS was sooo interested. By 10 months he was starting to reject baby food!

Just keep trying, you are doing a good job, i would just say to offer the food before the baby food, dont let him see the baby food jar or the bottle, etc. So heat up a meatball for him and give him a few pieces...then after a little bit or if he gets mad/frustrated take out his normal meal.

I say that because if he is full from his baby food he might reject the regular food. Also if he sees his baby food which he enjoys he might get mad that he is not getting what he wants.

Also I know with my DS, he hates bland food, so for the meatball try dipping in some tomato sauce or ketchup. just a little to add flavor and make it more enticing.

And dont worry about he comparisons. I know someone whose DS is 3 months older than DS and we were at a party when DS was 9months old and her DS was 1 yo, My DS was eating pasta salad and a hot dog, her DS was eating yogurt and strained peas. Now a year later they are both eating table food just fine! Each kid is different and my be on a different timeline!

Don't drive yourself crazy comapring! DD is 9.5 months old and has NO interest. What I do is usually throw a few puffs, cheerios or string cheese on her high chair tray while I feed her, her pureed food. She does the following:

Throws it on the floor
Hides them on the seat under her legs
or Feed them to me.

Only today has she started eating the cheerios/puffs/cheese, etc. BUT only if DH or I put it in her mouth for her....

I started with puffs and I would put them in her mouth for her but everytime I gave her food I would put them on her tray as well.

She just started doing it one day and now she eats all sorts of things and prefered table food to baby food.

ETA she will be 10 months tomorrow.

I think she started picking it up herself when she was around 8 months.

Started with puffs at around 6 1/2 months. Then little by little I started adding different foods....chicken, meatball, veggies,pasta at around 7 1/2 to 8 months. DD loves to pick up food with her fingers.

Just keep trying. When I gave baby food, I would just add a table food. Like oatmeal in the morning with a banana. Lunch maybe a piece of toast with a jar of food, etc

She loved it right away so I stopped the baby food. She hasnt had baby food since about 9 months. (unless we were out somewhere for feedings, the jars were easier)
