HOw much B6 are you taking???

I know you can take up to 200 mg at a time. ALso, its a gradual change over 2-3 cycles. I started at 50mg and increased mine to 100mg. I know other ladies on here were taking up to 200 mg or more. You can't really overdose on B6 your body will just pee out what you don't need.

Jess, here is something I found about LP. I think you should speak to your doctor ASAP and figure out what your best option is for lengthening your LP:

1. Over the counter remedies for luteal phase defect:
The two main over the counter remedies for luteal phase defect are vitamin B6 and progesterone cream. Vitamin B6 is perfectly safe and can be taken daily in dosages from 50 mg to 200 mg. Taking vitamin B6 every day during the entire month will help to lengthen the luteal phase.

A progesterone cream is usually targeted for menopausal women; however this cream is also useful in lengthening the luteal phase. A cream with natural progesterone works best. Use about 1/4 to 1/2 a teaspoon of progesterone cream spread on the inner arm, inner thigh, neck, and chest - alternating places - twice a day from ovulation to menstruation or until the 10th week of pregnancy.

2. Prescription drugs for luteal phase defect:
The most common prescription drugs for luteal phase defect patients are Clomid or progesterone suppositories. Clomid is taken orally as prescribed by the doctor. The suppositories are taken through the vagina after ovulation has occurred and until either day 14 post ovulation or at some point weeks later during a pregnancy, if pregnancy occurred.

Re: I'm out

It does seem to be a pattern that your LP is short. I would make an appointment with your dr. and let him/her know you are TTC and you notice your LP is on the short side. They can do a bloodtest also at 7dpo which will not only confirm ovulation, but also indicate what your progesterone level is at that time.

Progesterone is very important in early pregnancy as it helps to sustain a pregnancy until the placenta starts to take over. The fix can be as simple as placing you on progesterone suppositories after you O.

I think the B6 does help a little. My LP went from 10 days the for a few cycles to 12 days last cycle. I am curious to see what it is for this cycle. I am taking 200 mg of B6 and a B complex everyday. I read somewhere that it is good to take B complex with the B6.
