I'm coming out...
I'll start off by saying that I haven't had a chance to read through the threads on this board, but promise to do so within the next week so that I do not reiterate what's already been said/done.
Yes, a New Year does bring resolutions, and I have to say that I never really made resolutions, but in the rare occasion that I did/have, I never stuck to them. So, this is not my resolution, but my "coming out" on the Diet & Fitness world.
I'm being honest, but I never desired to lose weight b/c I accepted "me" for the way I am, and because I'm a "jolly" chubby girl, knew that everyone around me loved me from the inside and that's all that matter. What's sparking this "change" doesn't matter. What matters is that I've finally come to terms with many things (weight, size, energy, overall health, etc) and ready to take responsibility for it and do something with it.
That being said, I would like to thank one very special Lady (Kim P) for being one of the two inspiring people in my life. Kim, I've been sneaking a peak into your world for a few years now, and I just want to say THANK YOU! Your progress is inspiring, and your advice is priceless.
The other person is a very good friend of mine, Meirav (she "sneaks" a peak on here every once in a while.) Meirav is an Allure Editor and her most recent article in January's Allure was the wake-up call I needed. Everything she wrote, I experienced with her, and it is a true eye-opener. Thank you Ms. M - I love you and I know you'll kick my arse when I need it.
To everyone out there - seriously, read Meirav's article in this month's Allure...all you'll do is say "wow, that's me."
I'm on WW Points Plus and going to the gym 4 times a week (45 minutes each time.) Hubby promised me a personal trainer as a gift when I've gone 4 weeks x 4 days per week!
So, ladies - I'm coming out and I'm here. Please promise me you'll kick my arse when I need it?

Hi Chrissy!! I'm Colleen and more than happy to give you extra motivation. I'm on this board alot (maybe too much) because I'm so very into diet and fitness. I got into the diet aspect when I joined WW 3 years ago and lost 60lbs...the fitness aspect as well- I started running and now I'm a serious runner.
You made a great decision to "come out". You're doing such a great thiing for your body and health and you will definatly be so happy with the results!
I've trained with a personal trainer before and its so much fun. I think you'll really like it.

I've actually never stepped foot into a WW meeting - I don't think I have the courage to do that just yet!
Do you recommend that center??
Right now I'm looking for a gym with a pool b/c I love swimming, and want to add that to my exercise routine. Any reco's?

Hey Crissy first of all Happy New Year. This is a great board. You are off to an amazing start. The beginining is very difficult but once you make it into a routine and do it for a while it becomes a lifestyle change! I have faith that you will do amazing! I always thought that I didn't need a personal trainer etc etc. Let me tell you it was the best money ever spent. Good Luck and let me know if I can help you with anything! Us 06 brides have to stick together  You will do amazing I promise!

Hi Girlie - you're so right about the personal trainer....I've come across a few people recently that have lost a significant amount of weight (100 lbs+) and they all said they had a personal trainer!

I was always a thin girl until I gained 50 pounds after having kids. I am down 30 through weight watchers.
You can do this! The first step is the hardest and you are already over that hurdle!

I used to be on here a lot but kind of stopped posting because I would take a lot of time to answer about nutrition & health but the people asking weren't always serious... you sound really serious. You sound like you thought this through and are really changing your life. Best of luck to you in your journey to be healthy! It’s a great feeling when you can say “I have been living healthier for a year now…” and before you know it that turns to 5, 10, 15 years… You sound like you want to change your life, not ‘lose weight’ and I think that’s AWESOME!
