...and then you sent your child to daycare instead b/c your mom was complaining...
and they wrote "my granddaughter started daycare today. I cried for a second but then did the happy dance when she left. Now enjoying my bagel and coffee!!"
Wouldn't you be so hurt?
My poor cousin. It's her daughter...her mom (my aunt) is just odd to begin with. she always makes people feel like they are burdening her. It just stinks that she wrote that. My cousins baby is so stinkin sweet too...

I would definitely be a little annoyed. I know she probably didn't mean it maliciously but it's still hurtful.

It just stinks especially since my cousin was having her mom help because they really really needed the extra money and the mom said she'd help twice a week. Which was great. (my cousin is a nurse who WAS doing all night shifts so this enabled her to get a bit of a break).
I know her daughter is in better hands anyway at daycare and will thrive there PT. But for her own grandma to write that to EVERYONE on facebook..i just thought that was hurtful.

thats messed up. if my mom wrote that i would have said something like...sorry my daughter is such a burden to you...enjoy your bagel. but thats just me

You're right, i don't think it was malicious. Just not worded very nicely or well thought out.
And I just think of myself..I am pretty sensitive. If my mom wrote that she was doing the happy dance that her time was done watching my child i'd just feel sad.

I can understand people enjoying the peace and quiet when a baby isn't around, but to say you did the happy dance b/c you're granddaughter left is a bit odd and rude since she posted it where her daughter would see it.

It is..your poor cousin. You are right, the baby is probably better of in daycare since her grandma obvioulsy though it was too much for her.

People need to grow up with the Facebook shyt.
Really- how old is this woman?
She needs to post every thought in her head on FB?
Grow up.
You don't have to put every thought that crosses your mind on Facebook- especially hurtful things like that.

That is just plain HORRIBLE!!!! I am so sorry! Tell your cousin to print out that facebook status and let it serve as a reminder that her daughter is in much better hands and that having her at daycare will be better all around!

It makes it worse that it's the kid's grandma - and they volunteered to do it!

No, honestly there is nothing more. She has three daughters and they all have different relationships i guess but nothing "bad" per se.
She had been laid off from her job. My cousin needed help so she took on watching this baby 2 times/week AND they paid her a little bit.
I am not close to this aunt (actually not close with my dads whole family) BUT i am close with my cousins if that makes sense. They are great girls from a weird family (which i'm part of too in a way although i don't speak to most of them)

I'd write on my FB page today, "DC had the best day at school today. Lots of kids her age and has the best teachers. I think this was the best thing we ever did for her"

that's just mean...and sounds exactly like what my mom would/will post when I put DS in daycare p/t as soon as I get my ducks in a row. Its nice that many are giving the benefit of the doubt, but I can assure you that my mom is just mean. She complains when she watches him but then would be annoyed and take it personally if I had someone else watch him and would post that to be vindictive.
