I need a break from dealing with my flooded basement, some pics of....
my sister's baby shower on Saturday
This was part of her gift from me, a topiary that I made with enough socks, bibs, onesies, hats, washcloths and mittens for the entire first year of the baby's life (we don't know what she's having):
My papa painted the pot
We gave out mums to everyone as the favors. They were gorgeous!
Silly pic of me and Ava
Me and the mama-to-be, my best friend in this world
We had so much fun! It made me so excited to meet her baby soon!
I just wanted to add a better pic of the topiary. I had so much fun making it. It was therapeutic

OMG that is the CUTEST gift I've ever seen, so creative!!!!!!
Also, I was  at having MUMS as the favors, that is SOOOO CUTE too!!!

Great pics and OMG that topiary is AWESOME! Such a different idea too since everyone does diaper cakes and stuff like that.
I also like the idea of that bc you can include socks of all sizes --- all he way up until toddlerhood. You can never have enough socks --- we are constanly losing matches over here!

Oh I'm so glad you girls like the topiary! I can't say I'm that the original one. My sister actually made ME one for when I had Ava. It fell apart before I got it home, though, so this is the only picture I have of it in one of my pedestal bowls:
I wish she knew the sex of her baby because I had so many gender specific ideas. I was thinking of making smalls ones for each table. I wish I didn't let my mom talk me out of it, it would have looked so cute as the centerpieces. But this one came out great, too
