Re: Hysterosalpingogram
My DR wanted me to get one done and the month I was suppose to do it, the DR's office didn't get the authorization on time so I had to skip it (because you have to get it a certain amount of days after your period) and that month I ended up getting pregnant.
It's weird how things happen....but from what I understand, a lot of times after this test, the dye "opens up" your tubes and many women get pregnant.
Good luck with the test ! Thinking positive thoughts for you.

Hysterosalpingogram
i did it in april. i tend to pass out with anything medical- even just talk. Honestly, the talk was the worst part for me. Not that it didnt hurt, but it hurt less than i expected.
it's more uncomfortable than anything else. the part that hurts the worst is when you turn side to side to really get a look @ the tubes...
fm me if you have any specific questions

Re: Hysterosalpingogram
It's a pretty routine test done as part of IF diagnosis/treatment. You will likely get more info on the IF board.

Re: Hysterosalpingogram
I had this done last month. While the procedure itself was not painful (just minor 1 minute cramps while the dye was inserted), I had a rough recovery that night. I couldn't move, had the chills, doubled over in pain. It took me 2 days to feel somewhat normal. My doctor stated that some women have an adverse reaction to the dye, and that may have been the cause of the pain, considering both my tubes and uterus was clear.

Re: Hysterosalpingogram
I had a water sonogram first and it was incredibly painful. Had a very hard time driving home from cramps running down my legs. A couple months later I had an HSG and it was a breeze, I went shopping with a friend after.
My doctor told me the water sono was so painful because I could of had a blocked tube (I think he really didn’t do the procedure right).
Just relax, listen to some music or constantly talk to the nurse in the room with you. It will be over before you know it and all a distant memory.
Good luck!!

Re: Hysterosalpingogram
Mine hurt like crazy (sorry!) but was over in 15 minutes. I've heard that it "opens up your tubes" and I think it worked: I got pregnant with my DD about 6 weeks later.

Yes, I had one. It was very uncomfortable. It is supposed to open up your tubes and make it easier to conceive.
