Re: Hysterosalpingogram
I'm a pt of RSofNY also, and I am a terrible patient, and I freaked out too. Dr Lydic performed the procedure at Stony Brook, and there was an xray tech and a radiologist in the room as well. My husband was in the room too to hold my hand in case I tried to run lol. I took 600mg of advil an hour before the procedure. Set up took the longest(but only a min or two), uncomfortable but no pain. Then when he injected the dye; there was some cramping but it was quick. After that...the endometrial biopsy was cake!!
Hope your feeling a little at ease after reading the previous posts. Good Luck to you!!!

I had one done back in March at Zwanger. I was such a nervous wreck and didn't even want to go but I needed to know if my tubes were blocked. The nurse explained the whole test and how it is performed. It's a very quick test. It's uncomfortable and you will feel a little bit of pain if there is a blockage. For me my Right tube was blocked. After the test is over the radiologist will go over the test with you and show you on the screen how the dye spills into the uterus.
Don't freak out!! Just deep breathes..It's over under 5 mins!!
Thank you! When you found out your tube was blocked, what was your next step? Did they do the cannulation to your closed tube?
They did a Laproscopy to see if they could unblock it. Turns out it couldn't be unblocked. I have heavy and severe scaring from my Appendix I had from when I was little. So I had only one tube but good quaility eggs on both sides.

Re: Hysterosalpingogram
A Zlka it's a dr, not a tech, doing the procedure.
I was told it can increase fertility, pushing out minor blockages. It is sort of like Drano, cleans out your tubes, you know?
