$40-$50 a week, usually less. since we got married i've cut out alot of useless expenses like buying breakfast and lunch everyday, getting my nails done every week, etc.

Lunch alone for the week is about $50 and then if I go out to dinner once or twice...and take a cab a few times Im almost already at $200. Single life in the city

$20 is for gas, the rest, whatever I want to do with it. Some weeks, especially if I am home with the kids, I never spend it.

I give myself $100 a week but there are weeks I have money leftover. Since gas prices went up, all gas goes on our CC. Food shopping & any "joint" items that need to be purchased goes on our CC.

Well, even with that I'm only at $30 for the week.  (and I found a $20 while at CVS, so it's really $10!)
Colleen, I see what you mean if you're buying that stuff and he isn't and it's going out of your allowance. I'd wait and only buy during big grocery trips with joint money then.

I survive on like nothing. I usually have like $1-2 in my wallet. (I debit anything I need)
I always bring my lunch and we have hot and cold water at work so I bring tea bags.
I work close to home, so my gas lasts me pretty much all week, sometimes more.

I have no idea- until this thread I've never thought about it.
I guess it all depends on what I'm doing, sometimes it's not much so $30 will suffice, sometimes $500. It's all behavorial with me.

Same here. This is a hard question for me to answer. There are some weeks (like this one) where I haven't bought anything for myself. I did buy groceries but I put that on our joint credit card. We have a separate gas card that we use, which gives us money back.
I am going to start to try to give myself an allowance probably of $40.

It really depends - if its a week where I know I am not going out after work, or if I know I won't be shopping for clothes I can get by with $10 or less!
I eat breakfast at home, and I either bring my lunch, or eat a free one from work.

this is how I am.
I never count household items as part of my expenses - they are household expenses and I use the debit card.

but M-F on average probably
$100 - which I think is too much

i give myself about 40 bucks a week. that doesn't include gas money (that runs me about 200 a week  ) the 40 is for coffee, and whatever food i buy for myself as well as if i want to go to lunch or a movie or something with a friend. i find myself using my credit card way more that i wish i had to. money is really tight.
