How long did you dd/ds stay in the infant car seat?
I registered for the infant car seat, and then two "older" car seats (one for my car, one for dh)... we got all three, but everyone is telling me I should bring the other two "older" ones back and wait to buy them until I need them... but I'm not sure how long that will be? Are we talking a few months?? TIA!
ETA: I'm looking for an age estimate... I know the lbs recommendation... thanks again!

I wouldn't bring them back, they are expensive and you WILL need them...
Michael was just shy of 6 months old. He was getting too long for it.

Sarah was 6 months, Andy was 5 months. But we had a Snugride from 2004, so it went to 26". I think they go longer now.

At 6 months I feel like he is ready to be in the big one, we just haven't switched it yet. The straps are tight and they're as far as they go I think

I moved Ella out yesterday @ 8.5 months! I was holding out to get through the winter, so I didn't have to deal with coats.

10 months! The Graco Snugride holds up to 29". We just got the Britax Roundabout convertible.

8 months, would have been longer but because of bulky winter clothes the straps weren't long enough.

8 months. I got mine at my shower too, and I liked that it was already there and I didn't have to think about it.

I would keep them both if you got them. If you didn't get them I would say wait.
My son was moved to the big boy car seat at 5 months. He hit the height limit at 3 months (26in) but still had room so dr said it was fine to wait.

I took DD out at 5mths. Techincally she can still fit in to it but you can't fit her in it with a coat plus it wasn't practical to take it in and out of the car anymore because it was too heavy to carry her in it.

DS was 8 months and the straps weren't long enough. I wouldn't return it. They are a big expense and if one day you realize your DC just doesnt fit anymore you don't need to run out and get one and then risk not having the one you want.

I returned the "older" one that people got me because I thought by that time newer models would come out....just get a credit and go shopping when its time
