The information I have shows this as a much newer listing (at least a July listing).
So the land couldn't have been for sale...taken off the market and then recently put back up?

AND there are brand new homes being build in Hauppauge, where i live now, that are going for about 500-600K

Start off by learning what a "Comp" is... and then get back to me.

Since when was this house on sale for a LONG time?
And I am sure the price is very negotiable.
I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT B/C I LIVE RIGHT DOWN THE BLOCK AND PASS THE HOUSE EVERY DAY!
It has been for sale for a year now! As I mentioned earlier, my DH inquired about the house. He was thinking of buying it and tearing it down! We are not willing to buy it for that price and the owners were NOT NEGOTIABLE!
It is only newly listed on MLSLI! It was listed with CLA reality when it was first put on the market. It has never been taken off. My DH has tracked this house for over a year. The price has not changed in that time.
Now, can we just end all of this before this becomes my first thread to ever get pulled?
ETA: DJPILL- for your info, my DH is into realestate and mortages as his 2nd job/hobby. This IS a bad deal all around!

Which one do you think is better, the house you posted that's burned down or this? People are crazy for asking these prices! I have seen this house inside and there is absolutely NOTHING in it! No walls, pipes, electricity etc!

Where are these located? I did a google search... came up with nothing. Did an MLSLI search... nothing I saw with that name.
I searched for new townhouses in Hauppague and those are going for 500k minimum.
And those are TOWNHOUSES... attached housing.
New stand-alone constructions in Hauppague are going for 800k plus. And thats only on a 1/4 of an acre.
So... can we be wrong AGAIN Red?

The one that burned down was a HUGE rip-off. This one is WAAAAY better. Look at the property size between the two and come back to me.

land is expensive...we've been keeping our eyes open for property that could hold a horse or two AND that we could afford...and finding that amount of property with a house in a good district/area is HARD!!

But I gotta admit , this has been one of the best reads on the HOME board yet!! TO bring it full circle, I will reiterate that the BEST line on the MLSLI listing was "Bring Flashlight And Use Caution When Showing This Vacant Structure..." That says it all!!
