IS AN IDIOT!

Well maybe the same person that does that will think you are the BIGGER IDIOT for not doing it.

It works both ways.

Comparables. But since you refuse to look that up... its ok to think everyone is an idiot. Chat Icon

AND you have to COMPARE MORE than jus the HOUSE on LAND!

You compare to other houses in the area.

For the third time... show me a NEW house in that area (built in the last three years)... on a property that big.

If it isn't worth it... then it isn't worth it.

But don't rule somebody out as an IDIOT unless you do the research yourself first.

WELL I AM LOOKING in that area and know what a house IN THAT AREA should cost.

LIKE I SAID....NOBODY in their RIGHT MIND would spend THAT MUCH MONEY on LAND in centereach!

If you know a way to turn back time... you would be sitting on the beach and not on this website.

OMG you are just looking silly now.

HOW MUCH WAS EVERY HOUSE GOING FOR IN CENTEREACH IN 2000? Like 200k?

You said you were looking in Centereach for a house. Better not spend more than 200k on a house because thats what it cost back in 2000. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Cause some people prefer NEW houses. If people didn't prefer NEW houses... they would never sell. But they do.

BACK UP what you say then.

Show me a house thats NEW in a better area for anything less than 500k and either the same distance or CLOSER to Manhattan.

But I am sure you won't bother looking it up.

It isn't moot.
Buying a home back in 2000 the land was probably over 100K LESS than land NOW.
Whcihc makes a difference

Ok so when you invent the time machine that allows you to beam back into time and buy the same land for 100k less...

... let me know and i'll give you 50k for borrow its usage.

Hell if I could do that... I would buy every f'in house on the BLOCK if i could turn back time!

I didn't mean for this post to get so out of hand!

I do have to agree with red! The house has been for sale for a LONG time! If it's so desireable to buy for that price (a bargan if you must Chat Icon Chat Icon ) than why hasn't some builder grabbed it up to build a McMansion that they can EASILY sell for $770K or more? Answer: IT ISN'T WORTH IT IN THIS AREA!

Sorry, had to put my 2cents in, which isn't like me! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

The information I have shows this as a much newer listing (at least a July listing).

Since when was this house on sale for a LONG time?

And I am sure the price is very negotiable.

why would it be VERY negotiable...
according to you it sould be HIGHLY desireable

AND there are brand new homes being build in Hauppauge, where i live now, that are going for about 500-600K
