Help w/ Auto Ins. Claim

Does anyone have any experience with submitting a comprehensive auto insurance claim? Dh's car was hit by someone while the car was parked and of course the person did not leave their name and #. The door makes a squeeking noise now and there is a minor dent. We have to get it fixed because the car is a lease and is up in a few weeks.

We would like to go through insurance as a comprehensive claim, but we want to make sure that our insurance wont go up.

Just curious to see if anyone else have had this happen before? Did your insurance go up? TIA !!

Re: Help w/ Auto Ins. Claim

well its not a comp claim its a collision claim and you will be responsible for the deductible.

it most likely will not make any changes towards your rate, but it is a claim since its $/cost the company will pay and no one to go after.

Its its a 1st loss and you have experience with company, it will prob be forgiven.

Get an estimate and see if its worth placing claim, if deductible is $500 or higher.

This. I have seen a lot of cases in my company where these "hit & run" types were listed as "not at fault" which then causes no increase in premium.
