Auto Ins Quotes
Has anyone shopped around for auto ins lately?
I have Geico but just quoted with Progressive and could save over $300/year
Just wondering if anyone has gotten good quotes for any other companies - figured id quote with a few others in case

shopping around is a great way to save some $$ - shop with private companies (ie - allstate, progressive, state farm, etc) but also try to contact a broker in your area that has access to other companies that do not deal direct with the public.
Also, make sure that you are getting an "apples to apples" quote. Make sure that your coverage limits (liability, property damage, uninsure moterists) are the same, as well as your deductibles (comprehensive & collision) if your vehicles have full coverage on them.
Make sure they are running your license, and a CLUE report (which lists accident involvement) because if they don't while quoting you, the price will change after if there is anything on them that counts against you.

thats more than what we are paying now with geico and we have 3 cars

DH and I just combined our policies and switched companies.
He was paying $1,300 a year with Travelers for 50/100 coverage. He had a $1,000 deductible
I was paying $1,600 a year with Progressive for 100/300 and a $500 deductible.
Switched to Allstate - got a policy for the 2 of us (2 cars) with 300/500, a $500 deductible, full glass, etc. for $1,700!

When we did our homeowners insurance, the guy got us quotes for auto as well and we wound up switching from geico to utica. We are saving $300 a year and getting much more coverage as well so that's great...
