Girls with belly button rings....
when did you take yours out??
I'm 19 weeks today and I notice my hole getting a little stretched out! I'm guessing its time to take it out!! I've had a belly ring for about 12 years now- its gonna be so weird without it!!

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
I don't have one but I think I remember i the past girls mentioning that there is some type of ring or bar that you can get when you are pregnant that you can use so that the hole doesn't close up!
Hopefully someone will have an answer

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
I've had my ring since I was 15! (13 years!) It's starting to pop a little, but I'm not gonna take it out until it pops completely, probably another 3 or 4 weeks. I'm 23 and 1/2 weeks now. XOXOXO BOTB

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
I got an acrylic one for pregnancy and wore it til the day I delivered thinking they'd let me keep it in b/c it wasn't metal. I had an emergency c-section and had to try to take it out while I was contracting. Fun times.

It sucked - no joke.
Now I can't get it back in. I would have tried in the hospital, but it could have opened me up to infection if not done in a sterile way. The last thing I need is an infection and they run rampant in hospitals.

yeah, that's no joke with the infection risk... I guess the only thing you can do is start at square 1 and get it redone sometime in the future What a PITA.

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
Im just about 22 weeks and mine is still in.. I can't imagine not having it, but I plan to remove it once it starts stretching. My friend had hers put back in after she gave birth. The hole didnt close up though.. she just felt better having someone professional put it back.

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
My advice..take it out sooner than later. I had a hard time "letting it go" since I had it for like 12 years and I felt like it was part of my "youth." As if taking it out meant I was becoming old or something . Anyway, my cousin is a nurse and she recommended that I take it out b/c she has seen so many women who leave it in until later on and it causes problems. I think I was about 20 weeks pregnant when I took mine out (not sure..I'd have to look it up. I took it out on Easter Sunday so I have to do the math). I hate the way it looks now. I still have the hole where the ring was and as my belly got bigger the whole was still there. I never got stretch marks or anything around it though. But, when my belly button popped out it would've looked stupid to see my belly ring through my clothes.

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
I took it out around 20 weeks just to be on the safe side. I did not want it stretching out. The whole still looks open 16 weeks later.

Its a flexi bar. I got mine off of ebay. It was really inexpensive and worked until my 36th week (I finally got too huge )

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
I took mine out around 6 weeks. The weird thing is that the hole is now a dark tiny circle above my belly button...I guess it closed, but it's still there.

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
I had mine for about 13 years when I got PG> I took it out around 5 mos PG but I probably should have taken it out a little earlier. But there isnt any real bad stretching or anything and it just looks like i had a belly ring for a while, the scar will never go away and its still open. but im a lil too old to be putting the ring back in LOL

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
I looked up flexi bars on ebay and found a ton, I'd like to get something that doesn't ahve a little round ball at the top, cause a lot of times that protudes through the clothing, Does anyone know where I can get something witha "flat" top part? XOXOXO BOTB

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
I took mine out at about 16 weeks. I know a girl whos skin split open because she left it in and it looks sooo gross now! So the fear of that made me take mine out early. I put it back in 6 weeks port partum. I had to push hard to get it back in but it is all good now.

Re: Girls with belly button rings....
I took it out at about 20/22 weeks mostly because it looked awful through the shirts I was wearing and I was starting school again.
