Belly-button Rings

I know I read a post somewhere asking about taking them out. I just overheard a conversation (and then started asking questions) regarding this very subject. The receptionist (whose conversation I was listening to) in my office said her OB/GYN told her to put fishing line through the hole to prevent it from closing during her pregnancy and it worked.

She did say you have to do this before the point where you absolutely positively have to remove the ring or the area will be too firm to get the fishing line through.

HTH someone!!

I'm on my second pregnancy and although I've taken the ring out both times the hole has not closed.

Yes I have done this for other piercings and it works. (I used to fill it into my nose ring when I had "serious" interviews & did not want the ring to close.)
