the only reason I would tell them is to let them know I was pizzed that they didnt' listen to me and now I HAVE to put up a fence. Keeping the peace ? No I would not have anything to say to them and just put up my fence

Efff these people. Your property, YOUR business! And them playing on your swingset??Chat Icon A fence is totally needed at this point.. this is becoming a liability...what if someone fell off and got hurt? Now you are involving your homeowners insurance and it can get very ugly. I am sorry you have such wackadoo neighbors!!

I would not tell them anything and if they ask I would say it was for my daughter's safety. I am sorry that your neighbors are not friendly towards you.

ABSOLUTELY NO EXPLANATION IS NEEDED! PERIOD.

i believe the fence going up would be enough of a statement saying "STAY THE F OUT"....

i would put up at LEAST 6ft!!! 4 ft is too easy to climb over..... we have 7ft stockade fencing around the ENTIRE perimeter of our backyard!

ITA with all of this! We have a 7ft PVC privacy fence around our entire property. You are making it safer for your DD......if anything is said that would be my answer.

REGARDLESS of the relationship with your neighbors, you are under NO OBLIGATION what so ever to tell them, ask them, check with them, inform them...etc... about the fence. UNLESS it is required by your town.

It's your property. You do as you wish.

Apparently everyone has free range in your yard. Time to get it back! Plain and simple! No discussion needed!

Now, the only thing I would make sure. Get your permit if you need one, follow ALL the rules. They most likely will try to get you somehow if you don't do something right.

ETA: I would get the full privacy 6 ft fence.
