My favorite spot is on the toilet. I can be sure that about 50% of the time no one will knock on the door and ask me for anything.
I actually love sitting outside under my small covered porch as I can sit out there almost all year long. It is cozy and I get away from the chaos of my family :)
Otherwise there is not much else space inside. My bedroom, 1 bath, 1 living space and 1 table to eat on and sit at.
We poor folks :)
I prefer small houses actually. Easier to keep clean. In my old age I am finding I need less space and things and more experiences.
That is the one thing I said to my husband. When the kids leave maybe we can get a larger home but then do I really want to clean it. Even though it might just be the 2 of us, it will still need cleaning and the utilities will be a lot more money. Money we can use elsewhere.
I actually think I prefer condo living with shared amenities. That way you have a lot of common places to use but you don't have to personally worry about keeping them clean or doing the upkeep on them. Our vacation properties are all condo/townhomes.
I don't know if I like the idea of an attached home though. My parents had a condo which they owned and the size was PER.FECT for what I would want. The neighbors so close, closer than now which is pretty close might turn me off to that type of living.
Yes that can be an issue. I guess the ideal is a stand alone home in a community that has amenities.

Funny as my husbands friend and my moms friends both have pool houses so not sure why that is out of the question.
I have both at my house although the pool house is not much more then a storage shed. I am far from rich! I just have an old house with lots of little rooms.

If I'm in the livingroom I can hear my DH fart in the furthest bedroom.

One is probably more of a storage area but it is large and I am sure when their kids lived there it used more.

Another reason I go and sit outside. I HATE being cold. It is torture to me and while my house is not cold according to many, the AC annoys me and I would rather sit in the heat.

I’m sure my apartment is smaller but a comfortable size for us. My favorite is when I’m working at my desk/living room and my son interrupts me to ask where his dad is? Like in the west wing, it’s literally a two bedroom apartment. If he isn’t in your room or the common area, where else do you think he is?
ETA: I can use an extra bedroom and a backyard with a pool.

OMG YES!!! We do have a garage and basement but how hard would it be to walk the few feet and look to see where he is. Car gone, he is out. Car there, most likely, unless he is walking the dog or talking to someone outside, he is in ONE of our MILLION rooms lol.

OMG I am still working from home and can't stand being cold so I usually put the ac on in our bedroom which can cool off the house but not make it too cold (yes, like I said, small house). I have gotten into the habit though to turn on the AC in the living room though right before he gets home though as he complains too it is too warm. Funny though as he just turned it off in the living room so I guess he got too cold lol

Sounds like my old house and believe it or not I wish I could move back. The maintenance seems so minimal compared to what we have now. Plus less reason to invite people over.......no space to entertain!
