Eating The Placenta?
Okay I'm a little grossed out. This woman on "Bringing Baby Home" said her placenta was dehydrated and put into a capsule form for her to take

I heard about this... DH and I were joking with my OBGYN - DH said with a straight face to her that we wanted to bury the placenta... she looked at us in shock and we started laughing...
she said, "dont even joke - I had a couple that wanted to eat the placenta!!!"
So it happens more than we think!!!

Pretty nasty indeed. However, I saw somewhere where a couple made shish-ka-bobs out of it....***VOMIT***. While I have heard there are a lot of nutrients...it's still pretty gross!

I had to shut it off when I saw that.
My old boss took was being certified in prenatal yoga and they had a whole day about what you are supposed to do with the placenta

for whatever reason after I delivered DS about an hour late my parents and inlaws were allowed in the delivery room where I was recovering and they still had the placenta sitting in the giant petri dish right out in the open. My brother almost fainted when he walked in the room. And of course my DH kept joking with him "hey, want a steak" because that is kind of what it looked like. Gross

My best friend took her first child's home with her and buried it. It was her DH's idea. Her mother and I still crack up about it.
