my parents have carseats in one car. my mom watches DC three days a week so she goes on errands with them and stuff.
mil does not.

My ILs have one carseat. They watch Jayden 3 days a week and are the emergency contacts for Nate's daycare.
My parents don't have any bc we bring our own when we go to NY.

Neither side does right now. My MIL will never but my dad may wind up with one in his car only for the purpose of picking DD up from daycare or something though.

My mother does because she watches her but I would NEVER EVER let my daughter in the car with my father driving, if we were talking, I don't even want to get in the car with him. He is the definition of a bad driver!! As for my in-laws NO way José either. I am would not feel comfortable. My father in law g_d bless him is in his late 70's and my MIL, well if she can't even get her poop into my toilet bowl there is no way I am going to let her drive my daughter ANYWHERE!!

Yes, both sets do.
ETA: my mom watches DS 4 days a week and my mil watches him one day a week. My mom takes DS to gymboree, library and play groups.

My parents have car seats for all 3 of my kids. My dad just said today to me as he was putting dd in the car, "Now that we have 4 grandkids we have to get a minivan!! That way mom and I can take all 4 of them round!

My mom has a carseat in her car. She drives DD from my house to her house sometimes. I don't have a problem with it.

Well, my parents have carseats in their cars. I allow them to take Ava anywhere they'd please. They raised me just fine, so I have no problem with them taking Ava out and about. We don't talk to my inlaws, so no, they definitely don't have a carseat.

My parents have a carseat for each of my kids, and take them lots of places. They are not my kids' childcare providers, but they are their grandparents and enjoy having special days with them. I have absolutely no problem with this and never have. They raised me well, so I'm pretty confident that they will take excellent care of my boys.

my parents didn't have one for my nephew, nor will they have one for Amelia. There is really no reason for them to get one.
my il's don't have one either and I really don't see the need for them to have one. The subject has never come up either.

My parents live upstate and in-laws live over an hour away. One night MIL watched DS. We just left her my car in case of emergency.
Even if they got car seats for their cars, they'd be taking the seats out so much for errands that I wouldn't trust their safety. They can't possibly insepct them every time they want to install them.

My parents live in Florida but yes they do have a carseat for my kids. I would trust them to drive anywhere. My in - laws do not have a car seat and I would not feel comfortable with them driving Sara around anyway. I would let them drive Sammy around though - he is 5 1/2 and if it had to be done they could byt ONLY in an emergency

I'm not a parent (yet), but just to give you another opinion, my parents do have a carseat for my niece... they have since she was born, and no, they don't watch her regularly. They live in the city, and she's on LI, so my mom picks her up and drops her off whenever she sleeps over at my parents'. (She's 5 now.)

No, my Mom watches Charlie but doesn't take him out anywhere since she can't really lift him to get him in the car seat. She's a terrible driver so I wouldn't feel comfortable letting her anyway.
If my in-laws need to drive with him in the car, they take mine. But there is never any reason for them to just "take a drive" (it would be over my dead body!!!)

I plan on making sure my ILs have an up to date and safe carseat for our children when we have them. My Mom no longer drives so it is not necessary for her to have one.
