No.
My 5 year old nephew is not all the diligent. However, has excellent gross motor skills and can be artistic at times. Never would come close to creating a masterpiece like that.
Heck, I am 26 and couldn't come close to that.

This is on a google contest page with other artwork from various ages. It says the artist is 5. I just don't believe it.

DS just turned 6. His drawings, although very creative, and you can definitely tell what the subject matter is, can't come even remotely close to that skill level...

All I can think of are Barbs son J. class pictures that he drew. How old was he then? Pretty darn creative, but not that good.

I was VERY artistic as a child and was even approached to go to a special art school... I think I could have done the people... but NO WAY would I write "google" like that!

I didnt think so either - Actually I didnt believ that any of the choices in that age group were realistic- and that's based on what I've seen in 4 years of teaching elementary school.

I am going to disagree with the majority here... I actually think its very possible. Not the typical 5 yr old, but there are a lot of very artistic people with real talent. My younger stepdaughter was an incredible artist when I met her at age 6. I think if she put her mind to it, she could do something like this at that age, or 5.
The 5 year old could be on the spectrum and have a gift for art. Or a true artist at a young age. To think that someone is lying is kind of sad to me. Why not believe that there are true talents in our midst - at any age? A 5 year old has enough fine motor ability to create this. Not a 2 year old, but certainly a 5 year old.
ETA - I looked at the Google - I think it was traced for sure... but an anal 5 yr old could do it!

To clarify some things, the kids were given a template of the word 'Google' on a blank piece of paper. They could choose between a solid word or the word entirely in black.
ETS: solid black or outlined in black word.

That makes sense.
The people look like they can be drawn by a five year old. I find it difficult to believe that she had zero help with spacing and with the globe and how it intersects with the lettering but what do I know. It's fantastic.

My 5 year old couldn't. My 7 year old definitely could. He probably could have done it last year but defintely not at 5. He did pretty elaborate drawings of a science laboratory with inventions he was going to create, etc.
I agree that most 5 year olds could not. However, I think it is possible. It would have included prompting "you should color in all of the clothes" and definitely tracing or a protractor for the circle, etc.
