Re: Does anyone else find this bathing suit inappropriate?

I don't like it and I am not a prude in any way. When little girls wear skimpy bathing suits like that, they don't stay on and it becomes more sexualized (IMO) than if the little girl was topless in the first place. This one looks like friggin' pasties! I like 2 pieces for DD b/c it's easier to change her, but I got for the tankini look.

it is cute...BUT lets not forget it is dangerous IMO...I am a fanatic with sunscreen at the beach and my toddler wears a one piece or tankini...this would leave a lot more skin exposed and more fear of a sunburn!

Ok I actually just showed this to DH and he said he would never let her leave the house and if he found out I went behind his back and let her wear it, he'd be ripping mad.

I find it a little inappropriate. It kid of sexualizes the little girl, which is creepy to me.

Re: Does anyone else find this bathing suit inappropriate?

Well, better for her to wear it at 1 or 2 than at 12 or 13. I didn't really think of it as sexualizing a little girl until some of the other posters mentioned it. Ordinarily I do not like that and I don't like things like makeup on little girl pageant contestants, etc.

Nah, but then again it wouldn't bother me if a little girl had no top on at the beach either

good point, a topless toddler wouldn't bother me at all, but one in this bathing suit would. Chat Icon

I could see that, this seems to call attention to her top (for lack of a better expression...)

I agree with this. It's strange but I think that's exactly it - it's calling attention, and making it more "sexy" than "cute" - that's what is inappropriate.

Re: Does anyone else find this bathing suit inappropriate?

I am not a parent but I would not get that bathing suit if a have DD. It look sexual rather than cute and as PP said I dont mind a topless toodler in the beach.

Then when he figured out he said no, he doesn't think its appropriate

I kinda agree with him

Re: Does anyone else find this bathing suit inappropriate?

I love it!! I think it is so cute for an infant. When my DD was 7 months old I put a bikini with a flower top...the rolls on her body were the cutest!!!

I wouldn't put it on my 3 year old because at this point she is aware of her own body parts and I don't think she would feel comfortable in it.

If I had a DD, I'd so be ordering her one!! I think babies look adorable in itty bitty bikinis! I in no way see it as sexualizing them!!! Now if that was made for a pre-teen then that'd be a diff story!!

While I would not put it on my 3 year old, I think it would be cute on like a 5 or 6 month old - which is who I imagine this is for anyway.
