Do you say "Thank you"...
when making a post asking for help or advice???
I try and make an effort to read my threads and thank people for helping me out but I do notice that sometimes the advice/help goes without any acknowledgement.
Anyone else notice this???

Re: Do you say "Thank you"...
I sometimes get to my post late and don't like to bump the post up for no reason.
I appreciate every, single word of advice but I also am not a huge FM-er...

Lately I feel like I am on the "pay me no mind" list. I am not a stickler for being acknowledged or even thanked* but it's happened so frequently latey I noticed.
*the op usually says thank you in the intial post and like Kelly, I don't think it's necessary to bump the thread.

Re: Do you say "Thank you"...
I always make the effort to do the same! Sometimes it may be way late in the day or the next day because if I am at work I USUALLY can not post....I have limited computer access and limited time in an office.

Re: Do you say "Thank you"...
I am always thankful, but feel bad bumping my own post for that reason (don't want others to see it as a gratuitous bump)
I've never thought of this and now feel bad for not thanking people for their advice.....

Nah usually I say "That wasn't what I wanted to hear, you are mean and a bad person!! Grow up!!"
OK just kidding -- yes I thank people - I think I reply to my own posts more than anyone else replies to me!!

Re: Do you say "Thank you"...
I always make an effort to say thanks whether its in a post or an FM, but realize that not everyone does.
It's even weirder if someone FMs you for info, you give it to them, and they don't say thanks. That's slightly rude, but whatever!

Same here. I'll say thank you if it's still near the top. If not I don't want to bump it again.

Re: Do you say "Thank you"...
i usually put an intial thank you ('TIA") in my main post, but then do a thank you later on...unless, like others have said.. my post is on like the 3rd page... then i don't want to bump it up if my question was answered.
on the flip side (and i know- its better to be over polite than "under polite" ).. but i also dont see the need for those posters to thank, individually, every single person that responds. its just overdoing it, imo. i dont need a "stop the presses... thank you SO MUCH, neenie, for all of your amazing help". just throw me into the group "Thanks everyone" statement, and i'm content with that

Re: Do you say "Thank you"...
I always say think you in the thread itself, but if it's been a while since I checked it, I don't like to bump it either, so sometimes I don't.
But I ALWAYS put TIA in the original post!

Re: Do you say "Thank you"...
I always try to. Usually if I post something, I will not get the advice until later on when the PM crew is on! I hate to bump something from the am just to say thank you. So usually I thank everyone in advance
