Re: Do you love your house?
I love my house! It's a colonial. At one time it was a tiny BR cottage that was expanded several times over the years before we bought it. There are things that I don't love about my house like not having a basement but the location and feel of the house makes up for it.

Re: Do you love your house?
NO, I hate my house right now. It's a dormered cape, the bedrooms are big, so I can see the potential. Isn't it terrible to be embarassed of your own home?

Re: Do you love your house?
The 4 walls of the house as it currently stands? Not totally love, but it works.
The neighborhood, community and all the potential that made us buy here last year? Truly, madly, deeply in love!
We moved 9 months ago (and this was our fifth house in 10 years together) - and we still comment to each other regularly as to how happy we are and how we can't believe we live here.

Re: Do you love your house?
Nope. Not our forever home at all. Definitely thought we'd be in another home already, but life doesn't always go the way you want. It's big enough for us (4 bd and 3 bath), but I hate the layout (hi ranch) and the fact we are on a secondary road. We have less than 10 years less on our mortgage, so that's our time frame to make a move! We love our area and the kids school, so we will stay in the same town or one surrounding it.

Re: Do you love your house?
Yes. We have an undormered cape that would be considered a small starter home to most people but it fits our needs for the next few years. It's such relief for the first property we own not to need any major reno and the smaller mortgage allows me to be able to work only PT while babies are young = Love.

You sound like me!!! My house isn't perfect but has some very excellent things about it that I love more than my last home. For us we love our property size and location more than anything. We still say we can't believe we finally live here!

Re: Do you love your house?
I dont love my house but I do like it. It is a small cape with an unfinished full attic. It is very cute and we have done some really nice things to it. But I am not in love with our location, the kitchen is WAY too small and needs to be updated and we need another bathroom and at least 2 more bedrooms. That said, it is perfect for us right now. I hope we can find a house we love in the next 5 years or so. This house will always be special to me though because it is our first and we put alot of time and effort into it so far.

Re: Do you love your house?
Inside - Yes Outside - Not so much.
We bought a 1947 ORIGINAL estate in 2008. We had to gut the entire inside and renovate every aspect of it (electric, plumbing, insulation, etc). That drained us so much that the outside has been neglected but we are starting to work on it this summer.
I absolutely love the block and communicty, so once we do some work I will love it!
ETA: It's a colonial

Re: Do you love your house?
I LOVE my house! Of course there are things I would love to improve if I had the $$, but I love the size, the location, the layout and the feel of the house. It's a colonial! When we were house hunting, I realized that I had a definite preference for colonials.

Re: Do you love your house?
Don't love our house, but I don't hate it either. It serves its purpose.
It's a ranch.

Same here. I figured we would have moved by now or done a large addition. It stinks because we'd love to remodel the kitchen, but we'd also like to do an addition with a large kitchen so I hate like heck to put any money into a "temporary" kitchen when we may potentially be changing things again in 5 years or less.

Re: Do you love your house?
Yes I love it. It doesn't have everything I want in a house (no backyard, no true 3rd bedroom, no windows in bathrooms, etc) but I love that we made it our own and did everything ourselves... it's going to be hard to leave. We actually had a realtor come by a few months ago to put it on the market, but we backed out. We love it too much and aren't ready to leave yet.

dream house would be a new construction (on my property) , huge colonial but in this area it would cost over 850K

Re: Do you love your house?
I love my house b/c I grew up in it. I love my neighborhood.
We need renovations to make it more comfortable for us AND my parents and then I will love the actual house!
