Do you like your MIL's cooking?
I dont! And its making it so hard to go over to their house for dinner! Nothing has flavor!!! And she makes things I dont like. I cant tell DH because to him his mom's cooking is the best thing in the world. Am I the only one with this problem?

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
yes. but, she doesn't really cook that much (a woman after my own heart ), and we rarely go over there for dinner. But, when we do, i have no complaints

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
yes- she was a professional baker
so I love her food- and taking home leftovers when they lived here
it makes it hard for me to cook for Jake and have him like it

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
It's good, but very "American" and can get pretty boring sometimes.
But it always tastes good!!
Why don't you offer to bring something next time you go over? I know an Italian household would refuse, but maybe you can say that you want to try to cook a little more....

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
Yes. Not only does she have a great attitude about it (she goes out of he way to accomodate anyone who's vegetarian/vegan/has food intolerances or allergies), she's really good at it, too.

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
It depends. She's all for quick and easy stuff, so it's usually frozen stuff heated in the oven, which I'm fine with, but stuff like that is hit or miss.

she makes the SAME crap every time we go over there. and this is like twice a month that i have to eat pasta, salad, brasiole, meatballs, and chicken cutlets. i'm pasta'd out! and i cant bring food over, she would get sooooo offended. and its like force feeding. i have 1 plate full and she says i didnt eat enough and makes me another plate!

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
Well, we are only there a few times a year, so I only eat her cooking on holidays. If we are there on days other than holidays, we usually go out to dinner.

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
My MIL is Guyanese and she makes alot of ethnic food, some of which I like some the look of it makes me gag. She also has this thing for Cornish Hen, which freak me out to look at, I dont know what it is. And her sauce, well lets just say Im Italian and thats NOT sauce.

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
I know the feeling. We finally got away from the all-Italian-fest at my house a few years ago.....
How about inviting her over to your place? This way you can make stuff you like.....It's hard, I feel you.

same here. during the summer i love her bbq and generic stuff. but some of the hardcore italian dishes make me gag. how do you say politely that you'll pass? i always just say i'm full...but i can see she knows i'm lying!
