Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
No way, she's a HORRIBLE cook. Case in point, she made chicken marsala one night and since no one was around to eat it, the following night she scraped the mushrooms off and made chicken parm out of it!

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
My MIL and her mother are amazing cooks. They just throw things together and everything tastes wonderful. MIL mainly cooks Middle Eastern dishes and DH's grandmother cooks a lot of Russian dishes.
My mom is not a good cook. That's why we ate out most nights.

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
It's ok - I definately prefer my moms and so does my DH
She doesn't cook much - his parents are divorced and she is by herself. When she does cook its the same 3 dishes...but they are decent - I like her meatloaf - but probably because my mom never made meatloaf...

What is that?
I don't live near her so I don't have to deal with her cooking too often (or her lack of cooking should I say).

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
Not really. It is bland and boring Australian food (meat, sausages and potatoes). They rarely invite us over for dinner, but when they do it is BBQ, since we can BBQ at all times of the year b/c the weather never really get that cold.
She makes this chicken and pineapple dish, that I hate, but DH loves. She cant really cook Italian food and is afraid to step away from the cookbook and makes something on her own.
So yeah, her cooking is boring old meat, meat potatoes and steamed veggies.

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
My MIL is no longer with us, but when she was alive I ate EVERYTHING she made and licked my fingers afterwards...the woman was a phenominal cook/baker...we miss her and her cooking A LOT!

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
She cooks her famous dishes really well ... her lasagna's and gravy, italian food, etc ... but other things, not so much. A lot of oils and dried spices.

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
My DH doesn't like his mother's cooking at ALL! It's okay for me, although there has been a time or two that I just CAN'T choke it down. She is an excellent baker though.

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
My MIL has never once cooked for me. Not ever...in 10 years. The closest she has come to cooking for us is making a cup of tea.
What do you think of that?

I do not think she has cooked us a meal in the 8 plus years me and DH have been together. From what I *heard* she was a good cook back in the day.

Re: Do you like your MIL's cooking?
there are a few dishes I like, but generally I don't like her cooking. She tends to cook rather blandly and doesn't uses salt or many other spices/seasonings.
She also is horrible at coordinating dinner, so most things are cold by the time we eat.
