Re: WHo has dinner at 5:30 on a Saturday night?!?!?!?!!?

Hey, nothing wrong with getting free babysitters-lol!!

I actually like to go out after the kids are in bed so it is easier for the sitter.

Oh, sorry, I guess Iwasn't too clear.

MIL and FIL will be WITH US, it's FIL's birthday so we have to make reservations for 5:30 because the baby has to go to dinner with us and then go to bed.

That's what we do in our family too. Neither sets of parents, nor our siblings seem to mind...in fact the grandparents prefer to have their grandchild there.

Actually my parents ALWAYS ate at 5pm when we were younger. When they lived without us, they would go out to dinner at 8:00 at night-which was late for them so they had a snack at 5pm!!

the problem is that FIL wanted to go to dinner at 7:30 but of course all plans need to change to accommodate a certain someone who refuses to get any type of babysitter......ALL THE TIME!

Re: WHo has dinner at 5:30 on a Saturday night?!?!?!?!!?

actually we do!! but only because we have a 15mth old who doesnt go to bed until 9pm so at that stage its too late for us to go to dinner. Before we had her dinner time was 7.30pm or later.

I dont know if I would have been so understanding if I were in your position before I had my DD but now I have her I am part of the "early bird special" groupChat Icon

Does she do it to pizz you off or does she do it because she really doesnt have a choice?

Re: WHo has dinner at 5:30 on a Saturday night?!?!?!?!!?

We do pretty often. I am usually hungry by then. During the week, I get up at 5 am so I am usually ready for dinner by 5:30 or 6. Unfortunately, I can't sleep in much over the weekend so I get hungry around the same time. Besides like others have said, usually there is no wait.

5:30 is a big family time - little to no waits and good time to go when you have a young child. Sorry but unless she is doing it to just annoy the family - I don't see anything wrong with it.

we don't have any kids, and we like to eat earlier, too.. 5:30, 6 is a GREAT time to go out and eat because there's no wait and no crowds!
i have a few friends who have kids, and believe me, its better to have the earllier reservation when a baby is involved! Chat Icon
