Counting kicks?
When should we start counting kicks...
What is normal...
is kicking away a bit in the morning, a little in the afternoon and then she has a round at night...but I can't say that I feel her every hour.

Re: Counting kicks?
I'm 37w3d and have yet to "count kicks". My midwife never even suggested I should count.
At every appointment she just says "still feeling consistent movement?".

Re: Counting kicks?
It's supposed to be 10 kicks every 2 hours. I am not doing it unless my doctor tells me to.

Re: Counting kicks?
I never did it, but I think the books say to start at 28 weeks. The little booger is always moving so I don't feel like I need to count them, I know he's fine.

Re: Counting kicks?
I never counted kicks with my son. I think if you are worried about it, that it should be 10 kicks in 2 hours?? But I am not positive on this. This is also for much later on

Re: Counting kicks?
yeah, into the 3rd tri., if you feel like you haven't felt your LO move in a quite a while, you could count...look for 10 in two hours and try laying on your left and having a very cold drink. i think doctors have you do this only if there are concerns.

Re: Counting kicks?
I'm 31 weeks and havent' counted. My little one definately does not move every 2 hours - I only feel baby every once in a while during the day and in the morning. As long as it isn't lessening I think it is ok.

I don't count kicks either and i'm 36+ weeks. My doctor never even mentioned that idea to me.
You begin to notice a pattern as to when the baby is up and moving around. So unless you suddenly stop feeling that pattern, i don't think there is a reason to count kicks.
