Counting Kicks?
When do they tell you to start counting kicks? I'm 25 weeks and although I haven't counted I'm confident in saying I don't get 10 kicks an hour.

Re: Counting Kicks?
Wow...this brought back memories. It wasn't that long ago but it feels like it was..I *think* it was around 30 weeks my doctor mentioned it. But she told me it was more important that I didn't have long periods of not feeling the baby vs counting each one.

Re: Counting Kicks?
I'm 34 weeks and I never did, but has kept a pretty regular schedule of activity since he starting kicking so as long as he's moving around at the usual times, I don't bother. Only when there was a long stretch of non-movement throughout the day would I try the whole kick count thing.
Now he's just non-stop and actually wakes me up a few times a night from all his movement.

Re: Counting Kicks?
I am just as far along as you and my doc said 4 -5 kicks an hour not 10 (yet).
I don't feel that many but when I get worried I poke him/her around to feel a thud.

Please dont even get me started with those kicks ... I had way tooo much time on my hands that in one week my DH took me to the hospital twice ..because I did not count 10 kicks i was way to obssed with it!

Re: Counting Kicks?
I asked my dr and she said as long as there is a lot of movement there is no need to count.

Re: Counting Kicks?
I never counted kicks - but that's because I felt him 24/7 - he never stopped moving.

Same here. Only count if you notice the baby is unusually still.
They told me about this at my 27 week appointment.
